About this deal

Oh here she is, floating in a raft, in a very revealing evening dress and look…she still has her lipgloss on. Alongside the above, there are some really good (if underused) performances from the supporting cast like Evan Parke, Jamie Bell, Lobo Chan, Thomas Kretschmann and Andy Serkis who takes on a second role as Lumpy the Cook.

While the HDR and WCG work is mostly masterful in the way it opens up the color intensity and light range without the image looking forced, just occasionally skin tones can start to look a touch orangey during the Skull Island section. La narrazione coinvolgente, la regia eccezionale e l'effetto visivo sorprendente rendono questo film un capolavoro senza tempo. The dated green-screen effect and CGI work are also more apparent and feel fake, particularly during the fast-moving action sequences when actors are involved, such as the Brontosaurus stampede or when Jack saves Ann and Kong fights a swarm of Terapusmordax. Black levels are also richer and deeper than they were on the Blu-ray, while also containing more subtle info.

At startup, the disc goes straight to a menu screen with full-motion clips and music playing in the background. After even more interminable Jurassic Park-lite scenes involving Kong fighting (and fighting, and fighting) with dinosaurs, and Gollum (Andy Serkis) being attacked by giant bugs, Kong and Ann fall in love.Oh yes, this is the 1970’s King Kong, along with all the stereotypes, from sultry blondes, to cleavage staring, ruthless, hard drinking men, oh and let’s not forget the black ‘natives’ in all the appropriate feathery beaded gear.

Muy difícil manejar el poco contenido extra que contiene, por ejemplo el Picture in Picture se accede desde escenas de la película y en un cuadro pequeño de la pantalla (No se si se puede agrandar) mientras se sigue reproduciendo la película de fondo. Jeff Bridges, Jessica Lange and Charles Grodin star in this remake of the adventure classic from director John Guillermin. The outcome is him delivering one of his best performances and clearly shows his potential when given a chance. The natives grab the others and just as one of them is preparing to crush Denham's skull, Captain Englehorn and his crew show up and start shooting at the natives. NOTE: We haven't been able to pull images direct from the discs, images are from the Shout Factory release - as soon as we can we'll update and hopefully offer a video sample. I’d say this new 4K restoration is a much better representation of how effects like those should look in a home video setting, rather than the somewhat-sharpened look that Shout Factory’s Blu-ray release sometimes gave off.
