The lyrics then mention the involvement of a higher power, with the reference to the "good Lord" and a "holy monogamous tango. She has a degree in English Literature and Psychology and started her working life as an editor on a trade journal. The storyline didn't scream 'debut' one bit; instead, it felt as though Carla had been publishing books for a long time.

Sam and Emily both go from being lonely people who really have nothing but emotional scars to giving each other everything that they could ever want! Emily accidentally told her mother that she was married and now with Christmas approaching and her mother coming to stay she has to go and find herself a man! With a humorous dialogue, loveable characters, classic villains and many surprises it really delivers the feels. It's just a few days until Christmas and to finally put a stop to her nagging mother's matchmaking plans, Emily has convinced her that she's already married!Lydia especially, honestly I disliked Lydia enough I kept hoping a random piano would fall on her head. But most importantly it will make you happy it will make you feel Christmassy and leave you with a happy feeling and a big smile on your face. Fans of Jo Thomas, Catherine Walsh and Philippa Ashley will love this heartwarming read from Carla Burgess. One thing has left me quite shocked though; Marry Me Tomorrow is the first novel by debut author Carla Burgess.

I think if it was a little more slow burn I'd have given it four stars despite the loathsome secondary characters. I seriously enjoyed this one, except one they fell in love a little too quickly and two we didn't get to see them in a real relationship.First, because it's just weird reading about 34 year old women, when I, myself, is only 18 :D It's all my fault though.

From the minute they start living together they start to get on more and more like a proper married couple and when Emily's mum arrives their relationship heats up with romantic gestures here and there. I thoroughly enjoyed the spontaneity of the storyline and all of the characters involved, well, bar one (but you'll find out for yourself which one I'm on about! We want and value the same things in life; we don't want kids, we don't want an actual wedding, we both like being homebodies, and we both have families we'd rather not be involved with, so instead we have become each other's family. It’s all well and good to see your family over Christmas; just as long as you haven’t told them that you have gotten married…. Emily’s mum likes to think she is Cilla Black (may she rest in peace) and set her daughter up on dates; never mind the fact that she might actually be happy single! While I read a ton of romance , I’ve never read one with this specific subject matter , so that alone made it cool. Even though I had an inkling of what Emily was up to, there was still a small part of me that thought she wouldn't go through with it.
