About this deal

Colours looked accurate and natural, whether you’re watching nature documentaries or dramas. Although admittedly, the HDR brightness isn’t as bright as you’d get elsewhere so the contrast could be better. You'll only really see the impact of this when you're watching particularly dark movies or using it on a sunny day. There’s no adaptive brightness to automatically adjust the display settings according to the lighting conditions in the room. As such, you’ll get the best viewing experience from it on a dreary day or in the evening.

Updates have made the U7QF better, but not completely absolved it of motion handling issues. It lags behind other manufacturers in this regard.

The Hisense U7QF wasn’t built with the PS5 or Xbox Series X in mind, so you won’t find High Frame Rate (4K/120Hz), Variable Refresh Rate or Auto Low Latency Mode. Game Mode needs to be turned on manually and when it is, input lag delivers a speedy 10.5ms. Hisense U7QF performance — Bright, colourful and detailed with the right settings Motion was also reasonably good with 24fps material looking decent for the most part, with only occasional judder noticeable with Ultra Smooth Motion switched off. 50Hz content also looked fair for the majority of content we viewed, without Ultra Smooth Motion engaged. We did notice some trailing edges on moving objects with action scenes or sports. When Ultra Smooth Motion is used, we encountered Soap Opera Effect (SOE) with the interpolation modes and, depending on the level of interpolation used, we also noticed more image artefacts with fast-moving objects breaking up at the edges as the system attempted to keep up with creating new frames with fast motion. As always, for purists, we would recommend disabling the Ultra Smooth Motion settings for film and drama content, but there are user settings for use with video content and sports if you feel you need those.

Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM): allows the ideal latency setting to automatically be set allowing for smooth, lag-free and uninterrupted viewing and interactivity Subtitles and audio description information displayed on electronic programme guide more info panel Assembly of the TV is simple, requiring little more than slotting in the stand and tightening the screws. The stand juts out, and I can imagine would make placement of a soundbar awkward for smaller tables and stands. To wall-mount the set you’ll need a compatible VESA wall-mount.Watch the action unfold seamlessly with Smooth Motion, reducing blur and screen lag for clearer, more fluid scenes. Boost your chances of winning with input lag less than 20ms. We are delighted to offer our 2-man delivery team to bring any of our products directly to your home. Use Alexa via the Remote NOW app to control your TV with your voice, search across the VIDAA U platform or use any Alexa skills. Available in 50-, 55- and 65-inch models, the U7Q has an understated appearance. The bezel around the top and sides is thin, met by a discrete silver trim at the bottom. The chassis is made from plastic, and in terms of depth it’s surprisingly slim. The U-shaped central stand is made from aluminium, but it’s sturdy and supports the set well.Alexa built-in Use Alexa via the Remote NOW app to control your TV with your voice, search across the VIDAA U platform or use any Alexa skills. Despite being a mid-range TV, Hisense promises best-in-class overall video and audio from the U7HQ. This model supports all HDR formats and boasts a wide colour range. There’s also a game mode for PC and console users. Founded 1969, Hisense is a Chinese electronics company. While its early stages focused on radios and OEM manufacturing, it has more recently branched out to the UK market with a range of audiovisual devices including televisions and set-top boxes. However, an update appears to have ironed this out. It’s not perfect, but motion is smoother. Judder is still apparent, but less egregious. Smooth and Standard Ultra Smooth Motion settings serve up the subtlest performance, though the Film works well for movies. Let’s start with the issue that caused the most grief with previous Hisense sets: motion. Initially the U7Q’s motion remained awkward and in Dolby Vision films there was smearing at the slightest of movements.
