Bell, Art; Whitley Strieber (December 28, 1999). "The Coming Global Superstorm". CNN. Archived from the original on 2008-05-01 . Retrieved 2007-04-25. The Grays is the novel Whitley Strieber was born to write. The aliens feel so authentic, and their collaborators--our own high-ranking government officials--are so unforgettable, they will forever change the way you view the world.. . . The Grays will freeze your marrow. As with all of Whitley's books, you are in for the ride of your life.” —Douglas Preston, New York Times bestselling author of Tyrannosaur Canyon

Now let’s talk about his point of the book. It is that we should all wish for the aliens (the grays more specifically) be able to come in this dimension and use our soul as food in an exchange for their knowledge of technology. Wow, Its fascinating the utter certainty people have in thier grasp of "reality". When something is presented from outside thier paradigm they must classify it into the known. This is the intellectual arrogance of those who claim the author has psych issues. Mr. Martin got a video last night of objects that are moving below a cloud cover. We are working on it at this time. Strieber was born in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Kathleen Mary (Drought) and Karl Strieber, a lawyer. [4] He attended Central Catholic High School in San Antonio, Texas. He was educated at the University of Texas at Austin and the London School of Film Technique, graduating from each in 1968. He then worked for several advertising firms in New York City, rising to the level of vice president before leaving in 1977 to pursue a writing career. Even that, in theory, such things as time-travel was also possible. Beyond Communion - Unproduced Screenplays". beyondcommunion.com. Archived from the original on 2008-05-12. Suddenly I remembered being with a pal at age 11ish standing on an Orkney hilltop in the night watching huge glowing red orbs passing silently over the town below In 2018, the US Navy admitted that videos taken off the carrier Nimitz by pilots using ultra-sophisticated cameras were of unknown objects with incredible flight characteristics. Add to this the past seventy years of UFO evidence, and it is now undeniable that something unknown is flying around in our skies. But why are they here?

He still insists to this day, as a 40+ father of three children, that something odd happened that night. On a trip to the family cottage in the woods, on the first night the intruder alarm is triggered and Strieber sees a face watching him from the doorway. Bright light fills the cottage windows and wakes his son and two other family friends but his wife remains asleep. He got his arms around one, but his body turned upward until his feet were pointing at the sky. He held on with all his might, but the pull got stronger and stronger. "Dad," he yelled as he was dislodged and drawn into the sky. Novella, Steven (2018). The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe. New York: Grand Central Publishing. p.39. ISBN 978-1538760536.

Is it factual? This I do not know. Streiber is a good enough fiction writer to fake it convincingly. On video and audio he comes across as sincere and in earnest. I am, further, prone to believe others.

The 3rd (and thankfully the last) UFO that I saw hovered above my head (slightly above the 40' oak tree that I was standing next too! Seconds before that I had been hiding behind the trunk from dad. My brother and I were playing hide-and-seek and dad was supposed to come out to find us...) I had nightmares about it for years... I don't think I ever played outside in the dark much after that!! The next thing he knew, he was in a strange “sitting position”. He began to feel unnerved again as he was all alone, despite the creatures being here just seconds before. He writes: The Grays is a mind-bending journey behind the curtain of secrecy that surrounds the subject of aliens, written by the field's great master, Whitley Strieber. If you've never so much as thought about the subject before, this book will make you think deeply, not only about the mystery of who the Grays are, but who exactly we are.

Strieber then turned to speculative fiction with social conscience. Collaborating with James Kunetka, he wrote Warday (1984), about the dangers of limited nuclear warfare, and Nature's End (1986), [7] a novel about environmental apocalypse. He independently authored Wolf of Shadows (1985), [8] a young adult novel set in the aftermath of a nuclear war.
