About this deal

If you need to clean the sides, all you need to do is wipe it with a damp cloth. The sides are made from 100% polyester material. The bells and whistles are crap. The batteries lasted one night and you have to take the thing apart to change them. You can barely feel the vibrate feature so it’s essentially useless. I tandem breastfed the babies and the alarm never worked for me over the sound machine we have. The nightlight feature is useless, just get a Himalayan salt lamp. Warm cozy light on a dimmer.

The HALO BassiNest is recommended for babies up to 5 months or 20 pounds. If your baby starts to roll over or pull up, it’s time to stop using the bassinet. In the new Luxe series the top comes off to use the bassinet all over your home without the base! HALO BassiNest Swivel Sleeper Pros Some of the bassinets in this review come with additional features that increase convenience or versatility. While none of the options lost favor for not offering extra gadgets beyond a safe sleep zone, added features can simplify life and increase ease of use. Examples of these features include height adjustability, wheels, travel crib conversions, flexible sidewalls, soothing vibrations, lullabies, or sounds. The top-performing products often have hinged or removable sides (not to be confused with old-school crib drop sides) that make them co-sleepers and height adjustability like the Baby Delight. However, extra bells and whistles are not necessary to outperform the competition. The HALO BassiNest Essentia has a moving sidewall that significantly increases its convenience. The lower scoring Delta Children Deluxe Sweet Beginnings has a soothing center with vibrations and sounds that can act as a sound machine for babies. Cleaning You must have the travel crib to use the bassinet feature; you can not buy the two separately. It is convenient to have the entire bundle; however, if you already own a travel crib or have your sights set on something different, this is probably not the best option. Nonetheless, the Lotus is a high-quality choice with thoughtful details that matter for health. According to pediatrics research, your newborn baby will sleep for about 16 hours per day during the first few months of life. During this time, sleep is one of the primary and most important functions of the brain, playing an important role in your child's development and well-being.As well as being attractive, Leya appreciated the practicality of the BassiNest’s features, saying they made the tough first few weeks as a parent feel easier. As well as the swivel feature, other excellent perks include the soothing centre with calming sounds, vibration and nightlights, and the adjustable stand to fit multiple bed heights. Both girls have laryngomalacia and reflux and Halo does not recommend propping up the mattresses to make an incline because the sides of the bassinets are short and it’s not built for that, I agree. The mission of Halo is to make simple, innovative products that make safe sleep easier for you and more comfortable for your baby. HALO’s founder Bill Schmid and his wife tragically lost their daughter to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, also knows as SIDS. SIDS is the sudden, unexplained death of a seemingly healthy infant up to the age of 1 year. I can confidently recommend the HALO Bassinest Swivel Sleeper as the best bassinet currently available on the market. This bassinet offers several features that make it stand out from its competitors." -ChatGPT-4

The BassiNest has an unusual design compared to the rigid look of most other bedside cribs thanks to its rotating capability. Looks-wise, it’s aesthetically pleasing and understated, with a soft grey and white colour palette and breathable mesh walls. I was surprised about the weight of this bassinet largely because of the base I suspect making this more of a challenge to assemble and more difficult to move about compared with similar products. The vibration setting is also quite loud which almost drowns out the sound of the music if wishing to use both features at the same time. Tested by mum Claire Gandey for the Mother & Baby Awards 2017: If you know you’re going to have more than one baby and that your baby will be in your room for a while over their crib, I think it’s totally worth it! While bassinets are super useful, they definitely are not essential and there are some great bassinet alternatives out there for parents looking to save money and reduce the number of transitions for their baby. For example, there are some excellent mini cribs that transition to a full-size crib and toddler bed - a good example can be seen in our Nestig Cloud crib review! This bassinest came highly recommended by a mom forum so it was a must-buy when I became pregnant. I love that I can swivel and position the basket in many directions, and also I can pull it close to the bedside for easier bedtime soothing. The gray and white colors match my own bedroom decor and will work for future babies, regardless of gender.”

I would definitely recommend the Halo Bassinest to a fellow mum. It has been thoughtfully designed and feels luxurious. It is very stylish, but also painstakingly practical. The product is sturdy, but also has the flexibility to be able to pull down the sides, to easily manoeuvre baby in and out. I really love the mesh on the sides of the cot as it means my baby can look out. The vibrate and swivel features, along with the sounds, provide a variety of ways to soothe baby while they are in the Halo Bassinest, which is an excellent idea. I think this product should be a contender for the top spot as the vibration element is innovative and the built-in light and music system is really useful. However, I may not choose it to win as I just feel it is too pricey and it was a little smaller than other products I have seen on the market. The HALO Bassinest Swivel Sleeper allows you to sleep close to baby while having them safely in their own separate space, without being strapped to the side of the bed. The four-point, tip-proof base provides height adjustability to fit any bed, while the 360° swivel design makes it easy to get in and out of the bed. The retractable side wall makes lifting baby from an in-bed position easier, and has an auto-safety return. The BassiNest comes with a nursing timer which alerts when it's time to switch sides or return baby to their sleep space - promoting easier night-time nursing.” Tested by mum Kelly Holt for the Mother & Baby awards 2018: It positions nicely next to my bed and has a great spin feature to allow you to bring baby over your bed without even moving position! It feels really sturdy and the design is stylish too. It has a light, music and vibrate feature which were all very interesting and useful features. I did find that the vibration was too loud, but the light and the music worked well.

As one of the most expensive in the competition, this bassinet may not appeal to families with tight budgets. It is also heavy, and you likely won't want to move it from room to room, especially if stairs are involved. But we think it is a standout heirloom-style option that will be well-loved and used through the long haul to welcome new members of the family for years to come. There are a few things we would change with this product. The main thing would be the base. This design has been made for higher beds so you can place one of the feet under the bed. We have a low bed that sits on the floor so could not place the item right close to the bed. The other thing is the height adjuster, as we have a low bed the lowest height is still higher than our bed. The weight of the base is far too heavy, if these 3 things could be changed then this would be perfect. The best bassinets will help your baby fall asleep faster, sleep for longer, and have a more restful sleep. They will also help ensure your little one is safe and sound, comfortable, and practicing safe sleep practices as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).The fact that the whole Halo Bassinest swivels, makes life a lot easier in terms of getting in and out of bed. As a mum who has to get up for frequent night feeds, this would be the main selling point for me. I wished that I had been able to use this during the recovery from my C-section as getting up out of bed was very painful at the time. This crib would have aided my recovery!
