About this deal

Longevity is fairly decent, if not remarkable. Sillage, like all the Britney perfumes, is in-your-face and pretty intense. You get a big bottle for your money, and I think this particular red bottle is very attractive. However, my bottle seems to have a leaky spray, and this stuff stains fabrics and wood red, so be wary of getting it all over the place! If you’re wearing white and you spray this near it, you’ll have red spots on your clothes all day! I have my suspicions on how much say Britney has when it concerns her perfume line. Let me say that right off the bat. Even with that slightly cynical opener, I must say Britney has one of the best celebrity perfume brands. This is one brand where I'm determined to try as many as I can. I don't care about the hate this comment will garner, but Britney Spears' Hidden Fantasy's fragrance is exponentially superior to Chanel's Coco eau de parfum (present formulation, NOT the vintage). It is applicable for the mature at heart - for any woman who loves warm spice and vanilla - interplay with sweet jasmine and tender citrus notes, with a breath of clove for that added earthiness.

I had no reason to be afraid. I hardly smell any clove and if I do it isn’t enough to deter me. A reviewer much further down mentioned that it smells similar to VivaLaJuicy Gold. I do see the resemblance but much much weaker, no caramel. I just got Hidden Fantasy in the mail today and what a successful blind buy! On me, this is so uplifting and fresh, a fresh juicy naturally sweet orange that has been sitting in the sunshine. I get a slight warmth from the spices and just enough woodiness to ground it and give it some depth. This will layer really nicely with BBW Sensual Amber body cream. As for longevity, so far, I have been enjoying it for 3 hours. Seems to wear close to the skin, but I can smell it around me as I move my arms...I love that! I dont feel that this is a juvenile fragrance...people of all ages will enjoy this scent. Its casual and good for feeling clean and fresh any time of the day. Wearing Hidden Fantasy makes me excited for the change of Seasons and the upcoming Fall and Winter Holidays! Believe it or not, there are actually some celebrity perfumes that do not smell overly-sweet, overly-flowery, generic, pungent and cheap! Generally speaking, I am not a fan of most celebrity fragrances. Most of them smell low quality to my nose. When I find one that I like, it's great because they can usually be found for very reasonable prices. Designer scents tend to garner a much higher price point than their celeb counterparts. This was a blind buy at Action at a good price (100 ml), with a batch code from october 2016. Since I love the original fantasy and gourmands in general I felt confident to buy it since there was no tester. It opens with a LOT of orange, almost like orange juice, too much for my liking. You really have to love oranges to like this perfume!! Then it smells a lot like gluhwein or christmas, and the drydown is actually quite good, spices with a bit of orange, and has decent -not the best- lasting power. On initial application there is a very stong burst of alcohol, but within a few minutes that's gone. Then it's a very nice smelling softly spiced orange cream. I found it quite linear, but it doesn't last long enough to develop into anything else. It works as a flanker to Fantasy because it smells like a sweet dessert, but it doesn't share the same DNA. I only know it is a flanker because of the name and the coordinating bottle.

Reviews

I am typically a spicy frags person. I think this is, by far, the most wearable Fantasy fragrance of the selection I've tried. And I must brag on the beautiful bottle it comes in. It's such a lovely red color with the light pink "gems" all over it. It really stands out on the perfume counter, especially when it's sitting next to something else that makes it shine all the more. This is the first entry in the Fantasy line that I think could be classed as an 'adult' scent, and I think it is the best Fantasy fragrance released to date - I think this will remain as one of the least popular editions out of the Fantasy line as it isn't as edible and sweet as the other Fantasy perfumes. When the oranges vanish, Hidden Fantasy dries down to a soft vanilla musk scent, which reminds me more of scented plastic toys then of cake or anything Christmas-like. That‘s not neccessarily a bad thing in my book, but not what I wanted and also very faint and not executed that well here. There are still absolutely no spicy notes to my nose.

I always felt like I can't fully understand this perfume.we don't have Christmas but I always had something particular in my mind as a Christmas scent,Etat de libre orange Noel au Balcon or Oriflame Love Potion are much closer to my imaginations of a Christmas perfume than Hidden Fantasy I am re-writing my review of Hidden Fantasy as I feel that my previous review, (written almost a decade ago), does not reflect my current opinions regarding this often underrated Britney Spears fragrance. I really like the deep red colour of the bottle. The bottle feels cheap and not great quality, but it's kinda cute and is recognizable as a Britney Spears Fantasy flanker. The atomizer is not great. It spurts more than it sprays and has a very short burst. I have noticed the same with another Fantasy flanker so it seems it more a design issue than mine being faulty. It starts out very, very citrussy. Well, at least I agree with the top voted notes, orange and mandarine, they are really dominant here. The top is fizzy and warm, but also weirdly creamy and floral for a citrus perfume - I imagine an orange would smell like this if it was pink instead of orange colored. It's so soft and cuddly,so comforting and so nice that whenever I feel cold and blue I use it to cheer me up and boost my mood.I find it nostalgic as it reminds me of the homemade orange-vanilla cake my mom used to bake and serve it with a cup of warm, cinnamon tea To be honest, Hidden Fantasy was a huge disappointment to me. I had high hopes, as it often gets recommended as an atypical, kind of spicy celeb scent, and many say it smells like Christmas. That all sounded great to me and I often pondered over blind buying a bottle as it‘s also available for such a cheap price. But in the end I‘m very glad I got a sample in a swap, as it doesn‘t smell like I expected at all. It's a fun and zesty blend of sparkling, tangy citrus blast with some awesomely noticeable verbena (that is honestly so rare for me to detect in perfume, yet it's a scent I love) and gentle cloves that settles into a warm vanilla and slightly woody base. At first this gem played a "ping pong" with my nose. The notes bounced off each other on my skin and I got a bit of what I thought was tonka (probably the clove and other woody notes), which all reminded me of Cynthia Rowley's "Flowers" for Avon (I donated it to Salvation Army!).

The first thing that caught me by surprise was the stingy alcohol scent along with a bitterness, but it goes away within seconds. The citrus really only lasts a couple of minutes as well. It's definitely sweet, cake-like. I've read about an unlisted note of Neapolitan cake, which makes sense because it has this vanilla chocolate quality to it. HIDDEN FANTASY opens with citrusy fruits, its more tangy then sweet on me. Things start to get interesting as the middle notes develop on my skin, as the Neapolitan cake accords develop and give everything a slightly chocolatey cake batter undertone, but the clove note develops on first application and prevents the cake accord from being strong and sweet. The starring powdered white floral notes seem to be spiced to me, as the clove mixes well with them. This one is very strongly citrus (and I get some red fruit, which isn’t mentioned in the scent pyramid) in the initial spray. It’s fruity, like freshly peeled oranges being crushed, and the scent wafting up to you. There’s also some white floral in there. Soapy, creamy, tantalizing, sparkling, citrusy. sexy, appealing, addicting, love, hot and steamy, warm spice. Gotta have it. This is it... Wow.

I see that most people consider it a winter perfume and I agree but not that it's not wearable year round.it has an almost powdery/creamy woody-vanilla drydown with slightest hint of orange, jasmine and spices wafting through which is warm, smooth, cozy and pleasant

Hidden fantasy isn't my most favorite britney perfume but I like it and I'm glad to have a 3.3oz it's something I'll use when I'm in it's mood but one can use it in daily basis too.I usually wear it when I go for a walk in nearby park with my man evenings or late at night or when we're having a nice family night at home watching movies and eating home made cake and a cup of tea I love this, it is dark, mature, creamy, sweet, spicy and lovely. It is officially one of my favorites I may never take it off. It suits all occasions day or nightwear and in my opinion can work as a signature scent. It's a lot less sweet than the rest of the fantasy collection, more grown up and more polished which i appreciate since I do believe there is such a thing as overdosing on sweetness (yes i'm talking about you Heat Ultimate Elixer - don't get me wrong I do love sweet scents but I don't think that they're appropriate for everyday usage that's all). I like all britney perfumes I have(midnight and island are my least favorites, but still they're likes)and hidden is no exception.I recieved it as a birthday gift from a friend who is very close and dear for me and whenever I spray it I think of her This dries down in to a muskiness, a certain warmth, something like cloves and pepper, whilst retaining that very strong orange top note. It’s not a bright red, plummy, juicy fruity, it’s a musky, citrus fruity. Just as other reviewers have said, the longevity and sillage aren't great for me. However, it's cheap, so I'm happy to keep spraying.

About

It's been a while since I've owned Like This by Etat Libre d'Orange, but when I sprayed this my very first thought was "Finally, my heart! A cheap, good-enough replacement for Like This!" Midnight Fantasy used to be my favourite Britney scent but that one tends to wear you out over time. Hidden Fantasy is so much nicer and more wearable. I find this perfume rather interesting. I don't LOVE it, but for some reason it makes me wanna wear it more often. I have this in the 100ml which at first I questioned since this was pretty much a blind buy (I smelt this years ago, like when it first released but haven't smelt it since and completely forgot about it). Firstly, many people are calling this very citrusy and I wanna correct them on that. Hidden Fantasy opens with a somewhat fruity but not so sweet orange and tangerine smell. I would say this is the least sweetest scent out of the Fantasy line, but don't get put off by this without trying it! As it wears down I get a orange cake-like smell, or some kind of orange desert smell. It still has a slight amount of sweetness but not as much as the other Fantasies, so don't worry. I would say this is my third favorite Fantasy perfume out of them all, Circus Fantasy being second and the original first. As for the sillage and lasting power, Hidden Fantasy has an ok sillage. It probably radiates around arm length, almost as powerful as the original. However the longevity still had a lot left to be desired! It lasted at least 2-3 hours on me, no where near as much as the original lasts (12+ hours). One thing I find a bit strange though is the spray nozzle is a flat plastic red, which I thought it would be metallic like the others. I think in recent years they may have kept the liquid but cheaped out on the quality of the bottles to sell at a lower price point. Just my observation.
