Following the disappearance of Optimus Prime and Megatron's troops four million years ago, Ultra Magnus and Fortress Maximus took fluctuating joint leadership of the Autobots until Maximus abandoned the war. Here he is with Kingdom Ultra Magnus. To call SS86 Magnus an upgrade would be an understatement of the highest caliber, I'm so happy to finally have a Generations G1 Ultra Magnus wth the proper car carrier alt mode that isn't compromised by being a retool Battle Core Optimus Prime can combine with any Deluxe Class toys with the Combiner Wars-styled joint—but, of course, he is intended to be combined with Sunstreaker, Mirage, Prowl, and Ironhide to form Optimus Maximus. He can also combine with Unite Warriors Streetwise, Groove, Prowl, and Combiner Wars Rook to form White Convoy Grand Prime, as seen in the Generations Selects Special Comic promoting God Neptune. Ever since he was first shown off, I had some idea of how Ultra Magnus would look and feel like in hand. And oh boy, they delivered BIG time. Magnus looks fantastic: The detailing, the plastic quality and finish, the paintjob it's all just so perfectly on point! Despite some proportional differences, it feels like Magnus had walked out of the animation and into my hands, this is the most accurate-looking CHUG robot mode I think I've ever seen!
Most notably in terms of new tooling, the panels on the undersides of Powermaster Optimus Prime's forearms feature slots under the fists, which allow the guns to tab in and be held much more stably than with Ultra Magnus. And due to the amount of empty space in the cab area in vehicle mode, Powermaster Prime can fully transform without the need to remove his head. The 25th-anniversary gum toy is not a reissue of the original 1985 toy; instead, it appears to be based on the Titanium design. Accessories: Super Blaster Gun, 2 missiles, Spike figure, Daniel figure, left & right Matrix hands, neutral face, screaming face The inner robot, while still resembling Optimus Prime in general appearance, is actually a different mold from Siege Voyager Class Optimus Prime.

Ultra Magnus was appointed Commander of Autobot City some time before 2005. During the Battle of Autobot City, he could not prevent many of his troops and the reinforcements being slaughtered, including Optimus Prime. Still, honoring Ultra Magnus for his efforts, Optimus handed him the Matrix of Leadership and command of the Autobots. The Matrix had other ideas though, choosing Rodimus Prime as its bearer instead. Ultra Magnus was okay with that and became Rodimus Prime's trustworthy second-in-command. Part of the first wave of TakaraTomy's Premium Finish subline, Optimus Prime is a redeco of the Siege Voyager Class toy, with the same weapons and C.O.M.B.A.T. System functionality. Ultra Mammoth is one of the first six Transformers Collectors' Club exclusive figures to be offered via the Figure Subscription Service in 2013.
Three versions of Ultra Magnus would appear in the BotCon exclusive Transformers: Universe storyline. Note that in Car Robots, there is not one singular Matrix, but multiple ones, each held by a high-ranking Autobot. Magnus already possesses a Matrix, and simply seeks to steal the power of Prime's to increase his own (the overspill resulting in the supercharging of the Autobot Brothers). After a stint on Earth assisting the Autobots in the wake of the Surge, and the defeat of D-Void and the Decepticons, Ultra Magnus accompanied Rodimus and crew aboard the Lost Light on their quest to find the Knights of Cybertron, serving as Rodimus's second-in-command. After a near-fatal encounter with Overlord and an automated return to a now-insane Tyrest, Ambus's true identity was revealed to the crew. Although he gave up his role as the Duly Appointed Enforcer of the Tyrest Accord to Fortress Maximus, he continues to wear his armor—because regardless of who he might be underneath it, to his friends and crewmates, he is still, and has always been, the Ultra Magnus.Two different toys of Ultra Magnus appeared in the Titanium line. There are reported issues where the left chest piece is unable to tab in fully due to a deformed pin, leaving a small uneven gap visible in robot mode. Now here is a size comparison that I was dying to find out: SS86 Ultra Magnus with Titans Return Sixshot! This Ultra Magnus, along with the original Optimus Prime, Rodimus Prime, and Jazz makes a cameo appearance as one of the four elders who began the space bridge project in the Cybertron episode " Balance". When the galaxy became infected by the Hate Plague, Ultra Magnus was one of the first victims, and his calm, restrained soldier attitude was stripped away, leaving behind a raving, battle-hungry maniac who had a particular interest in destroying Rodimus Prime. After the plague was cured by the resurrected Optimus Prime, Magnus subsequently led the defense of Cybertron during the battle for the power of the Plasma Energy Chamber in 2007. In a completely different possible sequence of events, if Ultra Magnus instead decided to prioritize the theft of the coded message, he allowed for Kup to divulge to the rest of the Autobots the top secret nature of the mission at hand. After Kup explained that the mission involved an ancient Autobot formula that could boost a Cybertronian's strength tenfolds, Ultra Magnus and his troops took off towards the Autobots’ desert research centre. Once there, the Autobots learned that the cybertite sphere had crashed on Earth in a nearby crater, but was later moved by humans during the 16th century.If the Decepticons had decoded Springer's message, they would be searching off the coast of California, where the ship containing the sphere had sunk. If they hadn't decoded the message, the Decepticons would still be digging in the nearby crater. Springer was for heading towards the crater first.

Only features vehicle and super-robot modes, with no separate smaller robot mode, as the trailer does not disconnect from the cab. This mold was further retooled as Legends Super Ginrai, which was redecoed into Siege On Cybertron Magnus Prime. Additionally, TakaraTomy reissued Masterpiece Ultra Magnus in 2008 sporting their logo in the top right-hand corner of the box to replace the Takara logo in the bottom right featured on the original release in 2005. This reissue has been met with some quality control issues much like that of Convoy Perfect Edition, such as bad paint applications and chipping, misaligned doors, and even mis-assembled headlights which have been installed upside down.
