Essential oils are not needed, but they will add a beautiful scent and give your cream more benefits. Try using essential oils such as lavender or frankincense that are gentle and safe for sensitive skin. ESSENTIAL OIL BLENDS FOR DIY HAND MOISTURIZERSimilar to mango butter, shea butter is also very moisturizing. Shea butter can help restore dead skin and repair damaged skin. It also has healing properties and can reduce inflammation. If on the other hand (sorry) you find an exotic scent the best escapism on a grey, dreary day, Sol de Janeiro Hand Cream smells like childhood summer holidays, and is enriched with hydrating cupuacu butter and squalane. A carrier oil is used in this recipe to make it light and fluffy. I love the texture jojoba oil gives this hand cream, but any carrier oil would work. Made with 97% ingredients of natural origin, including Community Fair Trade mango seed oil from India and handcrafted Community Fair Trade shea butter from Ghana, our vegan hand balm gives nails and cuticles some TLC and nourishes dry to very dry skin with 96hr moisture. If you're already prone to skin irritations, opt for one that's fragrance-free, like the CeraVe Soothing and Repairing Hand Cream. It contains hydrating hyaluronic acid and ceramides to nourish skin and help heal any flakes or chaps.

Let’s face it, our hands are at the front line of life. We spend all day exposing them to hot and cold water, soap, sanitiser (the list goes on), then our faces go and get all the skincare glory.Add shea butter and mango butter to a medium-sized glass bowl. Place the glass bowl over a saucepan with a bit of water in the bottom. Heat over medium heat until the butters are melted. This recipe only requires 3 ingredients, though I do recommend adding in a few additional ingredients should you be so inclined. When choosing essential oils for your hand cream, keep in mind that your hands touch the sensitive areas on your body, such as your ears, nose, and eyes. If using arrowroot powder (to make it non-greasy), add that in now. Whip the hand cream for 1-2 more minutes. Most conventional hand creams are loaded with chemicals and toxins you won’t want to put on your skin, which is why I decided to make my own.

So, it’s time to give our hands a little TLC. Here’s a handful of our favourite vegan-friendly, cruelty-free hand creams available in the UK. This gorgeous, non-greasy, rich moisturiser is a one-stop-shop for the softest, smoothest hands you’ve ever had. It's specially formulated with high-performance soothing skincare naturals: organic Shea Butter, Aloe Vera, Chamomile Flower Extract and antioxidant Portulaca-Vita. Shea butter can cleanse and purify, making it a great ingredient to use on skin imperfections, cuts, and wounds. It contains a high amount of fatty acids and vitamins that are vital for skin health.Made with shea butter, mango butter, and jojoba oil, this moisturizing hand cream can be used on any skin type and will even work for children. HOMEMADE HAND CREAM For severely dry hands, apply a generous amount of cream to the hands before bed and put on a pair of gloves. For this recipe, I am using mango butter and shea butter. However, if you want, you can use just one or the other. Mango butter is very gentle and can be used on sensitive skin and children. BENEFITS OF SHEA BUTTER Dr.PAWPAW Age Renewal Orange & Mango Hand Cream is enriched Papaya (Pawpaw fruit) to provide nourishment, Olive Oil for added moisture and Aloe Vera to soothe, along with a host of sustainably sourced, proactive and 98% natural ingredients. Dr.PAWPAW hand cream is vegan and cruelty-free, with added age renewal properties and an added gorgeous orange and mango fragrance!
