Kennedy L. Mitchell creates the most intriguing prologues and as soon as I read this one, I was most definitely all in. Once again, Kennedy didn’t disappoint me as Mine To Hold is another fantastic addition to the Protection series and words cannot express how addictive this storyline is. It’s also dark, suspenseful, and extremely deep, intense and creative. Behind her, she heard the lumbering, military shuffle of Stormtroopers making their way through the foliage. Ren turned from her and approached the rooted figure of her son, bending down a little to account for the vast difference in height. He still towered over the boy, and the sight of his menacing visage so close to her reason for living gave her chills. But his next words drained every bit of blood from her face. All good things must come to an end, their vacation is a wrap, their relationship has crossed lines and they’ve caught feelings for each other. But can there be something more?

In between these sessions of sex, they talk about their feelings a bit. How they actually wanted each other, blah bla. Then, comes a minor and stupid plot twist, which sets them apart for a week or so and then they are reconciled. That's pretty much about it.Regardless though, this is still a beautiful friends to lovers romance and I can't wait for more in this series!! Emma was that girl. Next door neighbor. Sister’s best friend. After spending those years in New York, Colt had forgotten what women like Emma were like - strong but sweet, independent, and hardworking. I have been looking forward to this book for a few reasons. One being the age gap aspect ( I adore an age gap romance as there is an age gap between me and my husband), the single father aspect as I love a good single dad story, and the brother’s best friend trope because WHO doesn’t love a good BBF story. Also, when we met Bryson in the last book of the series, his situation was so heartbreaking and I just really wanted to see him happy.
Claire has never let herself get close to anyone before, but when she tries to keep Noah at arms length, Noah shows her that, he isn't one to be easily swayed. She finally allows him into her heart, but enemies from her past will not allow her to be happy. I don’t give synopsis as you can easily read that in the blurb, but I will also tell you that the narrators are excellent! Teddy Hamilton has a way of making it seem like he’s just telling a story to a friend. (Not like he’s reading at all). It feels very realistic and keeps you engaged. He is able to add texture, dimension, and different voices as well. He is one of my all time favorites! And Rose Dioro did a wonderful job as well. She was perfect for the heroine and brought the personality to life. She made the characters feeling believable and come to life. I love it when a good story has talented narrators as well. It’s so depressing when a favorite author puts out a book and the narration doesn’t live up to the story. I often wonder why choices were made. But whoever did the choosing for this book (and the series) was paying attention! They did their homework and hired two of the greats making this another exciting audio to take me outta my own head and worries for a while.Let me start off by saying romantic suspense is not a go-to genre for me. But every time I finish I Cynthia Eden book, I question my decision making and tastes. WHY am I not reading more of this!?! I absolutely love Cynthia Eden’s books. Her writing style is fast paced, sexy, engaging and above all completely consuming. I have a hard time putting her books down. And this book was no exception. So Noah York is a self made man, much like Trace Weston, he has his own personal demons, and lives by the "One Night Only" rule. He is a tiger in the bedroom, a total gent out of it, and has women falling over themselves for the chance of one night, that is until he meets Claire Kramer......
