1. Château de Brissac, Maine-et-Loire, France

This was Derek Acorah's last Most Haunted series owing to the controversy he was involved in during its production which cast doubt on his ability to perform his role. [6] As such he did not appear in the final episode at Sinai House. The number of episodes for Series 6 was originally intended to be 18, with the last 11 being part of Series 7. Due to Acorah's departure, the series was extended. This was the first series in which the team conducted 24-hour investigations over in the USA. Acorah didn't return for the show's finale at Sinai House when David Wells was the main medium. When the prison was in operation, some officers refused to work in C Wing alone at night, they've reported being pushed down stairs, hearing doors slamming, noises like moving all around them, and footsteps. It's said the atmosphere can change in the blink of an eye.

The ghosts: With 10 people being murdered in the mansion itself, it’s no surprise there have been so many reported ghost sightings, the most famous of which is Chloe, who had her ear cut off by her lover. She wears a green turban, peering intently at visitors while they’re in bed and has even appeared in a photograph. A more recent photo also shows another young girl, known as ‘Ghost Girl’ peering through the window of the house. More eerie sightings include a child bouncing on the beds, a soldier, a voodoo priestess and the ghost of a previous owner who was shot in the chest has been heard staggering up the stairs where he died. By the early 20th century, reports of paranormal activity began to surface at the house. Shortly after the first war, a woman reported seeing apparitions of nuns on the grand staircase. In the 1940s a younger soldier encountered a ghostly lady in white on the grounds.

The Eden Camp Modern History Theme Museum is located on the former camp, which consists of 33 huts, part of a prison camp that was constructed in 1942 to house Italian prisoners. From 1944 the Italian prisoners were moved on and made way for the increasing numbers of captured and surrendering Germans who were held at the camp over the next four years. The Old Picture House & Haunted Museum on Woodborough Road was one of the city's best-known, yet short-lived haunted landmarks. Steve and Marie Wesson had been collecting haunted artefacts and oddities from around the world for years and had been searching for a suitable place to display them.
