About this deal

Also, when Rolf ended their relationship, or rather, their series of meetings, for that’s what it was, around 8/10 over a period of 11 YEARS, that’s less than once a year (and in my view, she engineered each one of those opportunities) she went ape-shit, and THAT is when she threw the ‘child abuse’ allegations at him, saying the ODDEST thing, that telling her she looked “lovely” in her swimsuit was the same as him physically molesting her. ??? She is ALSO at ‘head’ of queue, so a whole pile of folks are RIGHT behind her, staring AT Rolf, (as people do with a famous person) yet no-one saw him, nor stopped him…..

I'd really like Rolf to be exonerated because I have a hard time believing him to be a really bad abuser other than a man who behaved like many other men did at the time (but just happened to be famous). His breakthrough number was Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport (which tells you a lot about the times – we weren’t sophisticated). He became a big name – an all-round entertainer, a face everyone knew – and in time-honoured fashion over the following decades he morphed into a national treasure. The final seal of approval came when he was granted a sitting with the late Queen so he could paint her portrait. His trial began at Southwark Crown Court, London, on 6th May 2014. Alwen and Bindi accompanied Harris every day of the seven-week trial with the entertainer denying all charges against him. Several witnesses testified against him, including six women from Australia, New Zealand and Malta. Bindi’s ex-friend, known as ‘J’. She wrote in her diary, during the holiday she said she was abused on, that she was having a GREAT time. ?? She also spent YEARS of her life going to Rolf’s house, being inseparable with Bindi, having a lovely time, never being frightened of Rolf at all. Even when Rolf moved away, 30 MILES away, she followed the family there, going over to stay with them, being perfectly happy to it seems..even happy for Rolf to drive her home. She was 30 MILES from her family, yet, she WANTED to be there.

Where to watch

Crimes That Shook Britain (S6, E1) examines how popular entertainer Rolf Harris was exposed as a child abuser. You can watch the episode and all eight seasons of Crimes That Shook Britain on Crime + Investigation Play.

We’ve ALL told children they look ‘lovely’ in outfits, ALL of us, to boost their confidence..and she may well have said to Rolf “Do I look OK in this?” for all we know… Although Harris had been a constant warm and friendly presence in the British public's household for decades, those who knew him personally had witnessed a different side to the entertainer. Despite an extensive investigation that has spanned several countries, the circumstances surrounding Madeleine McCann's disappearance still remain a lingering mystery. Victims come forward Prosecutor Sasha Wass QC described Harris as a "Jekyll and Hyde" character, who, despite his child-friendly public image, was a "sinister pervert" with a "demon lurking beneath his charming exterior". Rolf was bussed into Star Games, with other celebrities…It was on the OUTSKIRTS of Cambridge, so no dreaming spires or University buildings to jog his memory.Harris was the second person to be convicted under a wide-ranging police investigation set up after the Jimmy Savile revelations. The eight-year-old girl had asked for an autograph before Harris groped her. He was also found to have molested two other young teenagers and to have carried out a catalogue of abuse against his daughter’s then best friend, whom prosecutors said Harris groomed from the age of 13 and used like “his little toy”. The judge Deborah Taylor formally found Harris, 87, not guilty of all four charges of indecent assault, which he had denied, after a second trial jury at Southwark crown court was unable to reach verdicts. They stood by him throughout his trial, they were with him at the end, and they have made sure to to put him to rest... away from the cameras, away from scrutiny... you could see why they would want to to conduct those proceedings away from all of that."
