About this deal

However, we were disappointed with the positioning of the front camera , which can obstruct the view in some applications . The photo module is located in the upper left corner. This element causes blurring in the field of view in full screen mode. This detail is particularly annoying for gamers (especially PUBG fans who don't have a full view of their fellow players), but also for film and video fans. With Netflix, however, the module is out of range on the screen. Even in full-screen mode, making the platform's video format a much more enjoyable experience.. The Samsung Galaxy S10e differs from the flagship phone in many ways but still retains much of what makes a Galaxy appealing. The first obvious difference is appearance. The phone is noticeably smaller, measuring 142.2 x 69.9 x 7.9 mm and weighing 150 g. The 5.8-inch display is flat rather than edge-to-edge and features HD+ not Quad HD resolution. Unless you have your heart set on an Infinity Display, this is not a total loss. The phone is better adapted to one-handed use, and still includes the Super AMOLED panel that makes Samsung displays so clear and vibrant. The housing is also dust and waterproof (IP68). Capture with pro-grade tool set made for masters: Control your camera settings with Pro-Video Mode to adjust the exposure, focus and more to bring your creative vision to life Get ready to rule social media thanks to the Samsung Galaxy S10e’s Ultra HD front selfie lens, with auto focus.

And those who are really conscious about battery life will likely want to spring for one of the larger S10 variants. But those phones also cost considerably more. The bottom line is that, for the price and size, the S10e is still a good little phone, but it's outmatched by newer devices, as you would expect. If you find a good deal on one, it's a decent option. The S10e's impressive showing on 3DMark's Ice Storm Unlimited graphics test bore this out, with a result of 5,616. That result easily tops the iPhone XS at 4,244, demonstrating that while Apple still leads in raw processing grunt, Samsung maintains an edge in graphics. We also praised the very simplified design of the menu. True, some fans of the brand expected a much more complex presentation of functions and applications to get the most out of this high-tech screen. However, it is a revolutionary smartphone that is very easy to use that makes this smartphone overall a pleasurable experience. Expect fast LTE performance from the Galaxy S10. According to testing from Ookla Speedtest, the S10e averaged 49.18 Mbps, compared to just 33.17 Mbps for the iPhone XR. The S10e's 10-megapixel front-facing shooter doesn't impress, either. It delivered a washed out selfie that also wasn't quite as sharp as the Pixel 3's, even though no softening or beautification filters were applied in either case.In this default state, the S10e covers 148 percent of the sRGB space. That's ahead of the iPhone XS' 123 percent, and those who prefer perkier colors shouldn't fear, as Samsung has included a Vivid option with the S10e that ratchets up those hues into the stratosphere. And no matter what profile you use, the S10e's screen comes HDR10+ certified for excellent contrast and visibility in shadows and highlights alike. A similar story played out when we photographed a box of cupcakes. The S10e's food Scene Optimizer mode boosted the exposure and warmth of the scene far beyond what was necessary. The iPhone XS' attempt is simply more grounded in reality and also more precise, especially as you peer into the details, like the icing's texture. As previously stated, one of the Galaxy S10e’s more attractive features might, ironically, be its smaller size. As main flagships get ever-larger, a contingent of consumers have steadily gone for smaller phones – just look at the popularity of the iPhone SE (RIP) - and the S10e is as manageable as top-tier phones get with a width of 2.75 inches. (Curiously, the iPhone XS is the smallest of its generation, and the S10e is smaller than that phone by a hair.) What the whole S10 line has in common, however, is the punch-hole in the top-right corner of the screen, the source of the Samsung-termed ‘Infinity-O’ display. It’s noticeable, like the notches before it, though far less an eyesore than the wider camera tabs found in the likes of the iPhone XS and XS Max.

The Galaxy S10e's 5.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display isn't quite as sharp as the QHD screens inside the larger S10 variants. However, because of the smaller proportions, everything still looks crisp, with no loss of quality at oblique viewing angles, and none of that dithered paper-like texture you sometimes get from poor-quality OLED panels. Usability quirks aside, Bright Night doesn't quite rise to the level of Google's Night Sight. Putting aside some of the compositional differences between these photos, the Night Sight result is better all around, with more definition in the shadows, stronger color throughout and properly exposed highlights, especially pertaining to the ice patch on the road. The Electrostatic Fingerprint Scanner on the side of the Galaxy S10e keeps your phone and information secure. In one simple move, you can access everything in an instant while holding your phone naturally. These beefed-up innards translate to an effortlessly speedy experience overall and provide benchmark results that rival the very best in the business. As you can see from the Geekbench 4 single and multi-core CPU tests below, the S10e is just as powerful as its pricier Galaxy-labelled siblings, and manages to stand its ground quite nicely against the Snapdragon 855-powered Xiaomi Mi 9.

Still, the S10e isn't perfect. In a pinch I'd turn to the cameras in the Pixel 4, iPhone XS or iPhone XR every time. Photos and video with one tap: capture multiple images and video all at once, in one tap. Lenses, effects and filters capture the best of every moment, every time I've only ever used a Samsung smart phone, starting with the G4, so I cannot tell you how it compares to an iphone, as people tend to stay with things that are familiar to them... like brands of cars or other technical devices. The selling feature to me was: I was familiar with the general operation, it was the same size as my previous model.... which I became accustomed to using... and has a huge storage capacity, even on the standard 128gb model..and the speed in which it connects to the internet or retrieves for internal storage, is VERY fast. And Charging is so easy... just set it on the charging disc .... and it even tells you how much longer it will take to charge to 100%. Sometimes you want to show your friends a picture, but crowding around the phone screen can be a tad awkward. Not to worry – just use the SmartView feature to beam your Galaxy S10’s screen directly on to your compatible TV. Swipe down to access the Notifications bar (if you can’t see SmartView, swipe from right to left for more Notification options). Press the SmartView icon and follow the easy instructions. The Galaxy S10e’s facial recognition technology, along with side facing electrostatic fingerprint sensor provides excellent protection for your personal information without adding any inconvenience.

With the Galaxy S10e’s main 12MP + 16MP rear cameras, featuring an ultra-wide lens, you won’t miss that perfect moment or lose a member of the group, either. One of the new Scene Optimizer modes introduced with the S10e is called Bright Night. Like Google's Night Sight feature in the Pixel 3, it's designed to improve visibility in super-low-light shooting conditions. At launch, however, Samsung is not allowing you to manually activate Bright Night; rather, it appears automatically in the appropriate conditions in the form of a moon icon, and you can turn it off with a tap. Samsung is reportedly changing this behavior in a future update.Updated Camera Features: Get the more powerful S10e with a software update that gives you all new features including Single Take AI, Pro Video and more However, Samsung didn't make the best choice when placing the side buttons (volume control and Bixby) on the left edge. If the engineers wanted to create the first high-end smartphone especially for left-handers, they certainly succeeded! Samsung is rolling out its new OneUI 2.0 interface built on Android 10 to phones like the Galaxy S10e. Samsung Galaxy S10e: Bottom line
