About this deal

This is so that it can be used to time dive duration easily (read my guide on how to use these HERE). As aforementioned, the Seiko Sea Urchin meets all the Seiko 5 criteria. These assure the quality of the watch we’ll be reviewing today. However, there’s more to this watch than meets the eye. Here are some of the features that you should look out for: The most glaring similaritiesbetween these two watches are the index markers, bezel and dial signature. Frankly speaking, I’m also not sure why this is so. But from what I can gather, the watch is called as such because of its resemblance (somewhat) to the sea urchin.

But first, it is important to understand the reason behind the Submariner’s overwhelming popularity. It is every diver’s dream watch due to its unique features: The timepiece will look great on your wrist as a dress watch, but it’s still very practical too: It has a unidirectional rotating bezel, a stop-seconds hand function, a clear day-date display, and luminous hands and markers for visibility at night. The movement displays hours, minutes, seconds, day, and date. The movement is equipped with 23 jewels. Seiko Sea Urchin SNZF17 dial But I have a solution here! You can always replace the link bracelet with the high-quality NATO or Zulu straps. I sometimes think Seiko Series 5 is the perfect watch for a nylon strap.Fortunately, Seiko produces all sorts of case/dial/strap designs and color combinations, so there’ll definitely be one that will suit your individual tastes. Common for watches in this price range is that the bezel does not line up perfectly with the markers, but the SNZF17 does. Otherwise, consider our top two favorite models: The Seiko 5 SRPD51K1 and the Seiko 5 SRPD79K1 from the Sports and Street Style lines, respectively. These are great quality watches with similar features, but their aesthetics will appeal to two different markets. But the links are not made solid stainless steel but they are hollow inside. So, the bracelet feels light and flimsy. It somehow makes the watch feel cheap. Which is why if you ask me, it’s quite impossible to make a good diver’s watch without making it look similar to the Submariner.

But should your Seiko SNZF17 has a problem to keep it’s accuracy, say it’s gaining or losing almost one minute per day, then please bring it to your watchmaker to get it adjusted. At the end of the day, it all comes down to what you’re comfortable with and what you feel confident wearing. If you’re unsure, you can always test out a couple of different sizes and choose from there! Features But again, this is something that not all people are aware of (especially those starting to learn about watches in general), which is why this complains surfaced. The Seiko SNZF17 has a more traditional size of 41 mm made from stainless steel case which I found to be the best size for an average guy’s wrist. But for me, it’s not a very big deal as a minute or two inaccuracy is acceptable (at least to me LOL). It’s an Oyster style link bracelet that is made of stainless steel. On paper, the specification sounds great.
