About this deal

Also, these narrow legs correspond with the source material, featuring impressive texture and subtle dark tan highlights. The poor articulation which has affected previous AT-STs remains the same though, only including basic hip joints. However, I think including additional articulation would require new elements or compromise the stability of this vehicle, so I understand the omission. The legs start with a multi-sided structure that’s very similar in design to the 75306 Imperial Probe Droid central structure; an octogon with studs facing out, to which tiled sections are attached. The analysis goes like this. I.e. how well the 700+ dollars, euros, pounds are worth: 1) comparing to other lego sets, 2) comparing to other toys, 3) comparing to other things in life. Now let’s get the lower legs attached to the feet. They’re very similar to the upper legs, with a Technic frame clad in a plate and tile shell, with a large turntable gear at the top for the knee joint. The cladding at this stage is only partial, as the rest will get added once the legs are attached. Frustratingly, the instructions omit the important 4x callout at the beginning of this build (step 266), so you may not realize that you could be building all four legs in parallel until you reach the end of the booklet roughly 70 steps later and see the 4x at the end there. While the Millennium Falcon hasn’t faced off against an AT-AT (on screen, anyway) the freighter was instrumental in Princess Leia’s escape. As such, a LEGO Millennium Falcon is a solid addition to a broader Hoth scene. In the real world, Han Solo’s ship would measure 34.75m long, so a LEGO Falcon in scale with an AT-AT would be approximately 96cm in length.

The set includes 9 minifigures based on the following characters and elements from Star Wars: Luke Skywalker, General Veers, two AT-AT drivers, a Snowtrooper Commander and four Snowtrooper minifigures So let’s move on to that body. Box III has 12 numbered bags across six steps, plus an additional bag for some large Technic motorcycle wheels and a few other bits. So clearly, sturdiness was not the prime directive on this model. But that’s actually forgivable, considering the tradeoff is that it has a full interior (instead of small sections of an interior). As I mentioned earlier, it has seating for a full 40 troops, the canonically accurate loadout. Sadly, only five troops are included, so you’ll have to bulk up your Snowtrooper army with other sets. The set forms part of the Ultimate Collector Series, which also includes the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon set, LEGO Star Wars UCS A-wing set, and the recently released LEGO Star Wars UCS Republic Gunship set. Here's the press release for the long awaited and highly anticipated Ultimate Collector Series AT-AT: Similar to the majority of UCS sets, it has no minifigures included which was another negative aspect of the price. However, if you have the chance to get this set without spending a fortune, I would strongly recommend getting it. It will be an incredible addition to your collection. Now, let’s take a look at why this set was a disappointment to so many people. First of all, this price for 370 pieces is not good. Although LEGO has been increasing the prices continuously in the latest years, this particular set honestly feels like a total rip-off. Gungan underwater city and the surface swamp ruins - a Boss Nass minifigure would be nice finally -, though unless a Gungan army is there, too, a large playset could be enough instead of a MBS.

It’s true that the AT-AT rings in at the same price point as the 75192 UCS Millennium Falcon while having fewer pieces, but the difference isn’t too stark, and once built and towering over your minifigures, it will feel at least as impressive as the UCS Falcon. Similar to the majority of sets from the early years of the Star Wars theme, it has a simple design and the accuracy is not impressive. Of course, the set is too small to be accurate. The Imperial AT-ST (All Terrain Scout Transport), also known as the Scout Walker, carries the Empire’s forces swiftly and efficiently across the ice plains of Hoth and through the dense forests of Endor. Now you can build the ultimate collector’s model of this famous Star Wars™ vehicle from over a thousand LEGO pieces! The walker features E-WEB twin blaster cannons, MS4 laser cannons and a concussion grenade launcher. The set was provided for review by LEGO. All opinions expressed are those of the author. Overall

Now that you have seen all of the LEGO AT-ST sets between 2001 and 2019, can you name one that caught your attention the most? I misread your question and thought you were wondering what BRAND other than Star Wars might deserve the UCS treatment. It's funny that while the Star Wars brand appears to be flatlining worldwide, Lego Star Wars seems to be thriving... even as Harry Potter underperforms. Is there just a perfect overlap of Star Wars and (wealthier) Lego fans?"-Padmewan Featuring sliding side doors which open to detailed interiors, a movable head, adjustable legs, movable/spinnable guns, speeder bikes, an E-Web cannon Unlike the other models we’ve discussed, 75192 Millennium Falcon (part of the UCS range) takes the crown here. At 84cm long it’s as close as we’re going to get with recent models. Still, given the set’s considerable price tag, it might be tough to add this one to our hypothetical Hoth.

Now that the body is attached, we can finally get a sense of the final scale of this model. It stands 24.5 in tall (62 cm) and feels absolutely massive. At this point, it actually became a bit awkward to work on at my build desk, due to its height. Now, it’s been quite a few years since I last built one of LEGO’s regular “minifigure-scale” AT-AT sets. I remember that they’ve always been out of scale to minifigures, but they were still pretty large, often filling the top slot as the largest set in a given wave. So in building the UCS AT-AT so far, I could tell it was a bit bigger, but just how much bigger than those other sets didn’t really hit home until I got the feet finished and could compare them to a minifigure. Yes, this is certainly much bigger than previous AT-ATs. Master Builders Coruscant (something like Ninjago City that combines Senate, Jedi temple and maybe some more things, something like a base for the republic) One thing that is interesting about the feet, though, is that hidden on the bottom is a rubber tire. The sidewall of the tire protrudes just a millimeter or so below the bottom of the foot. The model is heavy enough that it still stands flat, but the rubber tire provides significant grip on whatever surface you have the AT-AT posed on. It’s a technique LEGO has exploited before, such as in 71720 Fire Stone Mech, and it’s frankly genius. Today, the LEGO Group announces the new epic LEGO Star Wars AT-AT set – the latest launch in the Ultimate Collector Series set (UCS) line-up and a must-have for fans of LEGO and Star Wars.

However, I myself often experience difficulties when I want to stabilize it on its legs. As I haven’t seen any negative comments from other people, I assume that this is an occasional issue, particularly with my set. As a French speaker, I've never understood English's tendency to absolutly avoid the passive voice. We use it all the time in French, so everytime I'm writing in English, I need to fight myself to avoid it. But I don't always do. "
