About this deal

This lead-free brass and UV stabilized polyurethane hose does not contain phthalates and is ideal for watering small to medium-sized vegetable gardens. One happy buyer reported, “I did research on hoses that would not essentially poison me if I drank out of them or watered my vegetables with them. Many hoses can transfer chemicals into the water you are feeding your plants, and since I grow organic, I didn't want that. This one is perfect.” Now, if this expandable hose can burst under the ridiculously low water pressure I have at my property, I hate to think what would happen under decent pressure. If you’ve never owned an expandable hose before, here are a few things you should know about them first : Pros: While not exactly a typical expandable hose, this coil hose from Water Right is safe for watering edibles and for little ones to drink directly from the nozzle and has a similar shrinking function. The coiled hose design stretches approximately 40–45 feet its full length for a 50-foot hose, and 25 feet has a workable length of 20 feet, and so on. The main complaints were about the hose splitting or the connectors not fitting the taps (most homes in the UK will have one of two tap faucet sizes).

An inline tap or valve allows the user to adjust the flow rate before the water enters the nozzle, spray gun, sprinkler, etc. For example, if you want to use an expanding hosepipe with a sprinkler, you’ll need one with an inline tap/valve. Otherwise, the hosepipe will shrink and might not be long enough to reach the sprinkler. 6) Will you connect the hosepipe to a pressure washer? There are dozens of garden hoses, from light to heavy-duty options, with solid brass connectors, aluminum fittings, or plastic fittings. Some hoses come with an eight or nine-function spray nozzle for optimal watering control, while others have a synthetic or natural latex core. Natural latex comes from rubber tree sap and is more puncture resistant than other materials. Types of Gardening HosesMetal hoses: Metal hoses are made of stainless steel and will not corrode if left in direct sunlight like other hoses. They also don’t kink and won’t spring a leak like other hose materials. Expandable hoses work by contracting to more than a third of their original size and collapsing to a compact and easily storable hose length when not in use, preventing tangles and kinks. Some hoses are made from the thermoplastic copolyester , which is used in industrial tubing and is more expensive than a standard hose. The best part is that if an expandable hose springs a leak after the warranty expires, a flexible hose repair kit can easily patch small punctures instead of you having to replace the entire item. I give this expandable hose 9/10 and in my opinion, it’s the best of the three I tested but do read the “what I didn’t like about the Flexi Hose” section above as some of the issues could be important to you.

I did my research online before buying this hose, and here’s what I found from the various online retailers I looked at: The XHose doesn’t come with a spray gun or nozzle which is disappointing as I only have a cheap nozzle from an old hosepipe at home and for the price, I expected more from XHose. These are also more expensive than vinyl hose types since they tend to last longer, even when exposed to direct sunlight, and are more heat-resistant than most other hoses.
