About this deal

One night after these events, Lena sneaks into Ethan's bedroom wearing one of his oversized t-shirts that ends at her middle upper thigh and shorts underneath and crawls into his bed next to him. After lying together, she begs tearfully for forgiveness for her actions and Ethan does without hesitation (proving how much he truly loves her) and they make up kissing passionately before falling asleep together. Soon after they reconcile, Link sneaks through Ethan's window and interrupts them. He tells them that while the fighting was going on he was bitten by John, who is revealed to be a hybrid; half Caster and half Incubus. After Lena confirms it, Link realizes he is now turning into an Incubus.

Dark love, It’s a night of darkness, a song of death. Wolves vent their loneliness. The eternal one awakens, Darkness shrouds his pale form, a timeless desire. His midnight hair casades to his shoulders. Full pale pink lips part slightly to taste the soul streaming from the pale flesh beneath him. Now a night of a new life, I rise. Beautiful Darkness is a reread for me. I read it first in July of 2010, when I couldn't talk about the book because everything I might talk about could be construed as a spoiler. Sitting down to type this now, however, I realize that pretty much everything I can say about this book even now is an actual spoiler, and that makes it hard to write a review that will not offend someone. The sin is not in darkness. The sin is in not respecting both the light and the dark as their role in our (and others’) personal evolution. The sin is in judgment, in pride and in separation. I don’t wish to be too contrarian because it’s likely that these readers didn’t understand the book any better than I did.[3] Making too much of something, going for the facile interpretation—it’s an easy trap to fall into when one feels as though they have to say something wise, intelligent, or insightful about a book. I feel that pressure a lot. And I’ve fudged things before as well. So it’s not like I’m blameless. I think I just wished for better criticism because I love this book and want to understand it.

It’s this that brings us to “Beautiful Darkness.” Based on an idea by Marie Pommepuy and written by Fabein Vehlmann, the recently released graphic novel from Drawn and Quarterly translated by Helge Dascher is a magnificently haunting experience. The book stars the young girl Aurora who, along with a group of tiny thumb-sized people, live inside the dead body of a girl whose body lays dormant in the woods. It’s at both a charming and incredible graphic novel as well as a truly horrifying and disturbing read, and its this eponymous nature of the story that makes “Beautiful Darkness” one of the most important new releases of the year. Ethan is skeptical about Macon's choice for burial, the town cemetery of which he doesn't have any real love for the town, Gatlin. Macon was an incubus who chose to feed on dreams rather than human blood. Several incubuses attended his funeral most of which Ethan had never known or seen before the funeral. A caster boy gives Lena a silver sparrow before he himself had to depart. After the funeral, Lena falls into a deep depression and refused to leave the house, Ravenwood Manor. Ethan Wate and Lena Duchannes' family are recovering from the fact that Macon Ravenwood died during their battle against Lena's evil mother, Sarafine died too.

Harry Potter. Remember the twist of Macon? It is the same twist applied into this book as what Rowling did to Severus Snape. Not to mention that Lila spelled like Lily. LIV: She is actually my favorite in here. Her wit and knowledge contributed a lot for the sake of Ethan. At first, I considered her as a normal girl but it turned out she's not. Ethan is furious at Lena for deceiving him for all these months. He wonders how long she and John have known each other, and why she couldn't tell him. At home, Ethan skips dinner, choosing to stay in his room and look at photos and memories of him and Lena. Amma comes to his room to make sure he's alright. She tells him that he's 'not right' and that Lena isn't, either. She gives him a red string with beads knotted into it for Ethan to wear around his wrist. When Ethan asks her about John Breed, Amma refuses to answer him.

So, I guess the third book will have more running around, trying to outwit the baddies while the supernatural continues to dither around about their exact nature, good or bad. Ohmygoshyes. Because of my one, true love: Wesley Jefferson Lincoln. He carried this book on his scrawny shoulders. A vegetarian? Are you insane? That's worse than bein' a quarter demon! I was honestly only reading for the parts where he was in. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
