About this deal
Step 4: Lift off the cloth and assess the state of the stain. Move on to the next step if the stain is completely faded. However, if there are more stains left, you need to repeat the treatment process as often as you find necessary. The stain needs to go on a clean wood surface, so the first thing to do is clean the wood to remove any grease and grime if it has a previous finish on it. Then let it dry properly before sanding it.
Start with a coarse grit sandpaper: Begin by using a coarse-grit sandpaper, such as 80 or 100, to remove any rough spots or imperfections on the wood surface.
After staining wood, you should finish the job by sealing the stain in with one of our Wood Waxes, Wood Varnishes or Wood Oils. These will enhance the colour of the stain further, provide additional protection and can be used to alter the finish to either satin or gloss. Wood Stain Options The Wood Stain instructions below explain thoroughly how to prepare wood, stain wood, and then how to protect wood afterwards. They will help you get the best results when using our Wood Stain. Preparing Wood for Staining
The iron acetate, dye, and ink will usually bleed under masking tape, but stop at the solid groove in the wood surface. Signing Ebonized BowlsEbony is a beautiful decorative and ornate wood that is very dense. Ebony is such a dense hardwood that it will sink instead of float in water. The stain works beautifully, but you do need to have nice long strokes for large areas to get a smooth streak-free finish. You also have to let it cure before using or it may chip off. Up to 3 weeks. This may be hard if you use the table.
