About this deal

They don’t reach the same high values that some Pops can go for but they are starting to get up there. Well, here we have a weird one but what can you expect from a LEGO buildable figure of a furry character. I understand how hard it would be to find that perfect solution for adding a furry effect and thus, I always close my eyes on this side of the Chewbacca figure. A static rangefinder is clipped to the right side of the helmet while the left features another printed tile decorated with a yellow striped pattern. Further printing appears on Boba's shoulder armour, showing the Krybes, a Mandalorian emblem depicting the skull of a Mythosaur in Legends continuity. This is a charming detail and I think the light bluish grey tiles look good too, although this section of the helmet is actually dark green in the movie. I struggle with the likeness, the mask and head seem to be on the large side probably because of the addition of his hood. Captain Phasma is by far one of the characters with wasted potential and does not rank at the top of the fan-favorite villains. Besides that, there are significant problems with the design that simply make this a fairly bad buildable figure.

If we look at the Stormtrooper, Captain Phasma, and the Sith Trooper and draw a comparison with the Stormtrooper being top-notch and Phasma being a huge disappointment then the Sith Trooper is somewhere in the middle. The 41608 Han Solo is one of those figures that leave you with mixed emotions as it has both great and terrible features. Both have a very cool retro feel about their design, they are quite simple in design but it all comes together well to make a very cool set. When you compare the Stormtrooper with Captain Phasma it is clear where LEGO went so wrong with Phasma. This version of Mando has him in his original armor from the early episodes before he acquired his Beskar Steel armor. They were first launched in early 2017, and we tend to liken them to the extremely popular Funko Pop Vinyls.

Captain Phasma goes for up to four times her original retail price which is not a bad return on your investment if you snapped her up when she was first released. It is the simplicity of the figure that makes him and the printed details really bring the likeness. The problem is, is buying just one StormTrooper enough? Don’t you need an army? The weirdest addition in this set is the combination between the blaster and the lightsaber since I do not remember ever seeing Luke with both but it looks good at the same time. Just remember to make sure you ask all those important questions that need asking before you buy Nonnie. Now, over to CapnRex101 for a comparison with the figure from 41498 Boba Fett and Han Solo in Carbonite...

As for the Sith Trooper, it does look amazing but slightly bulkier than I would like it to be. As a whole, the helmet does not closely resemble the actual character and it gives me those Captain Phasma vibes that I do not want in my head. Nevertheless, I absolutely love the colors they used and to me, they make up for the issues and make the figure look unique. Later on, you will see the second Boba Fett release which does look sleeker than this original version but honestly, this set is just unique for other reasons. Yes, the Boba Fett is great here but the focal point here is the Han Solo in Carbonite. Finn is frankly just a bit meh! He is just a bit basic he almost looks like a bad prototype that was never meant to have been released. The Child, Baby Yoda, Grogu, disappoints a little. He comes in his hover pop but that only serves to make him seem too big against Mando. They need be disappointed no more because the just-released 41629 Boba Fett is a considerable improvement on the version in the SDCC set.

Construction

The design of Luke was great. LEGO made him into his Cloud City outfit with some neat printed pieces, they added some details on the belt like the lightsaber holder which would hardly hold a lightsaber at this size but it is a cool feature.

As for Baby Yoda or the Child, it comes with the hover pod we saw in the first episodes which is a nice addition with good design. While you cannot expect much design-wise from this character, LEGO nailed the shaping and completed it with those cute ears that you see on the picture. LEGO did an outstanding job with this piece and included lovely details. From the printed side pieces to the closed eyes of Han Solo (as it is in the movie), it is an absolute beauty. The overall design here was brilliant. LEGO used several printed pieces to complete the design of the helmet which would, otherwise, be looking odd and unfinished. The color scheme was great and included a custom blaster design. Unfortunately, it includes a regular red lightsaber which, once again, looks odd at this scale but what can we do about it. LEGO previously released The New York Comic-Con 2017 Exclusive Set that bundled a slightly different Boba Fett figure with a Han Solo in Carbonite figure. 12. Princess Leia Organa 41628The solo appearance was a better figure, he just looked like Kylo Ren. For me, it is a different story with this version.
