About this deal

Does 2021 sound like the year to pop open a bottle of a fine Japanese blended whisky? We think so. Beam Suntory recently launched Suntory Whisky Tori under the House Of Suntory portfolio; it is a marriage between three fantastic whiskies – Yamazaki, Chita and Hakushu – created by their Chief Blender, Shinji Fukuyo. The notes flatter orchid fruits, with a touch of honey-peppermint on the nose (as well as the aftertaste). Herbs and toasted almonds also make an appearance, with the slight whiff of oak.

PALAT:-E Rich creamy mouthfeel, toffee apple, caramelized sugars, soft fruits, and a gentle wood presence. With water, fresher fruits become more pronounced on the nose {Bramley apple, Conference pear}, alongside grape skin, green pear, and more wood spice. Subtle, distant spices help carry the fruit and vanilla characters, giving a long and Fresh creamy finish. Blended by master blender Stuart Morrison, the whiskies included in Copper Dog have been aged in a mixture of refill American and European oak casks, first fill Bourbon casks and rejuvenated casks, before being married in hogsheads. The name ‘Copper Dog’ comes from an old device made from copper tubing with a penny soldered to one end and cork in the other, which was used by distillery workers to smuggle whisky home. It is also the name of the bar at the Craigellachie Hotel. Copper Dog Nose

The sweet fruity smell is accompanied by a honey-cereal scent, adding to its warmth. Some also report that they smell baked goods in this delicious blend. Color Upon sipping, notes of honey and apple become prominent, along with a touch of bitter orange and oak spice. What truly stands out about Copper Dog is its smoothness and complexity. On the nose, ripe fruit aromas predominate – everything from crisp apple to zesty citrus. The palate follows suit with dried fruit, vanilla and a hint of winter spice – nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon – that add further complexity. Finally, a light peppery oak finish rounds off the experience with a delicate yet spicy ending.
