About this deal

In the following guide, we provide an overview of the Cybex Z Line Modular System, one of the safest choices for transporting your baby by car. Patented reclining headrest – The 3 position reclining headrest helps prevent the child’s head from falling forward while asleep. Height Adjustable Headrest - The height-adjustable headrest has 12 settings for a customised fit. As your child grows it is simple to adapt the seat to keep pace. Reclining Headrests – The CYBEX patented reclining headrest prevents the child's head from falling forward while asleep and guarantees optimal protection in the case of a side-impact.

The Sirona Z is both rearward facing and forward facing but as it is an i-Size car seat, your baby must stay rearward facing until at least 15 months of age. It's alsoequipped with Driving Direction Control D.D.C, which prevents any misuse of the forward-facing position. In reality, this means it will not allow the seat to fully rotate forward until the harness is set to a minimum of 76cm (the approx height of a 15-month-old). UK law dictates that all children must travel in an appropriately sized car seat until they are 135cm tall or 12-years-old, whichever comes first. It's then up to you to decide the travelling position of the car seat. As these are i-Size tested car seats, it is to be used rear-facing for a minimum of 15 months and 76cm tall. After this point, it can be used forward facing, but we would recommend rear-facing for as long as possible. It's great that you can use rear-facing for the entire time if you want the safest position. As safety features are obviously the most important feature of any car seat, these car seats have plenty. A difference in the two seats is that the SX2 has Advanced Linear Side-impact Protection that needs popping out on the car door side. In combination with the energy-absorbing shell, it can reduce the force of a side impact collision by 25%! The energy-absorbing shell is designed to flex with an impact and channel the forces away from baby too. The 5 point harness is nicer to use on the Cybex than the Joie and it doesn't have so many confusing inserts. The Joie seats are also notorious for having very little leg room for the child rear facing (that's how they save space). The 25kg seats take up way less space than the spinning seats, they are huge. Which Axkid seat do you have, and were you fitting it in compact position or extended leg room (and/or recline)?

L.S.P - The integrated L.S.P. System increases safety in the event of a side-impact collision. In combination with the energy-absorbing shell, it can reduce the force of a side impact.Additionally, when the Cloud Z car seat is combined with the Cybex Z base, it can be rotated towards the car door for ease of fitting and securing your baby in the car. Your only other job is to extend the support leg until it touches the footwell and the green indicator at the front of the base turns to green. Just take care not to overextend the leg and cause the base to lift from the seat of the car. That's it! SensorSafe is another car seat safety advancement from Cybex. It involves connecting to your smartphone and once set up can alert you to the following risks and dangers: The Cybex Cloud Z2 i-Size car seat comes under the new R129 i-size regulation meaning it follows the safest standard for new car seats. It has an optimised Linear Side-impact Protection (L.S.P) system, which significantly increases your child’s safety in a side-impact collision.

More than 10 years of usability – This 2 in 1 seat protects your child with an impact shield until they are 21kgs and then by removing the impact shield and using the vehicle seatbelt until they reach 150cm. The dimensions are not that helpful as they tend to measure the seat when it's sat flat and sometimes when it's forward facing so it doesn't give you a very good idea of how much space it takes up in the car. This can make life much easier and convenient when struggling for space in the car boot, or if you simply find yourself out for longer than expected without your carrycot. Lie-flat seats - Research shows that it’s healthiest for newborn babies to lie flat for the majority of the time when they’re sleeping or lying still for periods. The CYBEX Cloud Z i-Size features an ergonomic lie-flat position outside of the car. Having the spin feature means that you can move from rear to forward facing easily too. On the previous model, there was Driving Direction Control which prevented misuse of the seat and forward facing too soon. Cybex have now passed this over to the parent to decide when to forward face, within the regulation advice. As lots of parents don't read instructions carefully, this could mean that they forward face sooner than advised. There is a red line on the car seats though that is a visual reminder that once the head rest reaches this mark, it should be around the height that the child can face forward. The R129 standard, known as i-Size, is the most recent and was introduced to make travel for babies and children safer than the ECE R44 standard. R129 and R44 run side by side, so parents can choose whether to buy and use child car seats that meets either standards. The baby or child's height is used to determine if the seat fits the child, rather than their weight.
