About this deal

These two family drama storylines carried the whole book for me, and if it wasn't for them, I probably wouldn't have finished the book. My attitude towards Charlotte is quite neutral. She was amusing if not extra on many occasions, but what actually did leave me questioning my life the author's decision-making skills was her heroine's nice and slow transformation into a full-fledged personal psychiatrist for the Marchetti men. Was this type of character development really necessary for a 22-year old girl with traumatic past? i knew myself well enough to know i didn’t survive books. they tore me to shreds. i’d never met an inanimate object as talented at breaking hearts as a book.” Everyones experience with mental health is different, and there is never one way to experience something. Yet this only ended up being another typical marketed suicide book for attention and bait, with mental health being the lowest key point here. this book was instead a journey in how the death of a person can ultimately shape the lives of others, people who haven't even had the chance to meet him.

You can't tell me everyone in the publishing world is thirsting after a book that references Miley Cyrus🤣🤣🤣. I can already imagine all the middle schoolers dissecting the comparison between emotional turmoils and our twerk queen✋😩 Darling Venomis a story of best friends’ older brother. Of enemies to lovers. To slow burn loves. All and all, it’s a story of family, addiction, redemption, forgiveness, grief and strength. Tissues should be very close when reading this book. The story starts when Charlie (Charlotte) is a teenager and one night she meets Kellan on the roof of their school. Under any other circumstances, they two would not have spoken to each other, but that night they did. And they make a promise. Both of them hold on to that promise for three year, and in the fourth year, Kellan breaks it. Now alone, Charlie is left to deal with the consequences and wonder what happened. One day she meets Kellan’s older brother, Tate, and she begins to find some truths. Why would Charlotte's boss insist that she visit a gynecologist? 🌚 Reproductive health is important and all, but even if she never made it to an ob-gyn before, it was kinda... her personal issue? I was ready for a sliver of true sadness to enter my body only to be exorcised by a piece of juicy sandwich a few mins later ( there's not much of emotional trauma that a sandwich can't take care of).Overall, Darling Venom was not a bad book, but it didn't touch me emotionally. Not with his romance, at least. ps - if you need help, please do not hesitate to reach out to your family, friends, and even your goodreads friends. this is probably the nicest most welcoming community ever so please if you need to vent/ or are feeling down, having dark thoughts reach out. ps - yes that pap/vaginal exam scene i know i haven't forgotten about it, it's the funniest thing ever i could not tell you how long i spent clutching my stomach from pain/embarrassment/laughter. was it weird? kind of, i mean take this scene away and the book is a lot more serious-ish but i think it added a good distraction away from the heavy topics. some people might be turned off but for me, it was pure comedy. did this remind me of the scene from Wrong? yes, but both were funny so i'll take it.

Did he believe she wouldn't come to their place that year and thus decided it was his perfect cue to leave this world like a gentleman? If he did, he didn't know Charlotte at all. Which is logical, seeing as their interactions happened once a year for the duration of 4 years, books and notes shared aside. He moved toward my lower body. “I’ll be very careful. The chances of your hymen being affected by this exam are absurdly low, so try to relax. Now spread your legs for me, Charlie.” fast forward four years later and kellan’s death has brought together two broken souls - charlotte and tate. both are ridden with guilt and self loathing, over the death of their loved ones.Which, finally brings us to the main reason this book was only a mediocre read for me: *drumroll* the romance and the smut. I kid you not (just look through the first quote attentively, will you (not)), when those two were in the same building, Tate couldn't keep his eyes off the girl. No reason was valid enough to stop the staring:
