Death by Chocolate is a murder mystery play written by Lesley Gunn, and tells of the murder of the owner of a chocolate factory. As per the usual format of murder-mystery evenings, the audience are fed clues throughout the play, often designed to confuse, and at the interval the cast mingle with the audience and answer their questions. An all-knowing inspector of police supervises the investigation, and at the conclusion the audience are invited to name the murderer or murderers. The producer, Marc Skinner has the discretion to alter the ending slightly each evening so that subsequent audiences don’t already know the answer. I keep waiting for the dashing Jonah to put a ring on it. After all, as Addie's aunties are still constantly reminding her, her eggs aren't getting any younger. But first, the stalker has returned and someone from her past will come to her rescue a second time. Her newest nightmare could mean the end of her world. When a French chef turns up dead, there's whole slew of people who might have done it. Addie, Jonah and Grey must solve another murder. And in the end they hope to narrow down the suspects that could possibly be her stalker before it's too late.
And Grey, I love him. I wish I had him as a best friend or even as a brother or a cousin. The way that he and Addie look out for each other is so endearing. It wraps my heart up in a big bundle of warmth and happiness and I just want to stay there. Amie Wallace played DCI Abbott, who investigates the murder and directs proceedings in the latter part of the play. She came across as confident, knowing and efficient.
