About this deal

Hampson returned full-time in 1955, starting "The Man from Nowhere" trilogy, which took Dan and his companions outside the Solar System for the first time. Bishop, David (18 November 2003). "Battling Battle Action Part 4 - Apocalypse Now". Judge Dredd Megazine. No.212. Rebellion Developments. LewStringer's 'New'Blog (started 1stMarch 2013): Is about himself and details the comic work he is currently doing and has done since the early 1980's. I still use the same technique in CGI, but I can now get the correct curvature in all directions. But the principle is the same.

Alan Grant( w), Eric Bradbury( a)."Doomlord - Enok, Protector of Mankind" Eagle(24 September to 27 May 1989). Fleetway Publications. Morris, Sally; Hallwood, Jan (1998), Living With Eagles: Marcus Morris, Priest and Publisher, Cambridge: The Lutterworth Press, ISBN 978-0-7188-2982-7 Harvey attempted to stop Doomlord, but was unable to convince anyone else of the alien's existence. Doomlord also seemed invulnerable; however, this did not extend to his human form and Harvey took advantage to shoot him - only for Doomlord to pass his life force to another person, and then grow inside and take over as if he had absorbed them. Doomlord manipulated Harvey into a trap, and explained his "dread mission" as a "Servant of Nox" – he was to be judge, jury, and executioner on humanity's right to exist, using the identities of members of society's elite as stepping stones to gather evidence. If Doomlord judged humanity as unfit or to pose a potential risk to the interstellar community, he would destroy it – the billions of deaths being inconsequential, as "The fate of the individual is unimportant when the survival of the species is at stake." Doomlord delivered a sentence of death upon humanity. He hypnotised Harvey to accompany him to a germ warfare establishment, to watch helplessly as Doomlord constructed a virus to kill humans worldwide. However, Harvey managed to overcome his hypnotism through strength of will, and stabbed Doomlord. The alien infected Harvey with his life-force but the reporter sacrificed himself by releasing the virus within the sealed laboratory. Harvey's last act was to inform the dead Doomlord that humanity had the right to decide its own fate. [9] There were land and air vehicles – in the first stories, cars conform to styling of the time, while some flying machines were based on the design of helicopters of the mid-twentieth century. Also of note was Lex O'Malley's ship, the Poseidon, a versatile craft that could operate as a jetfoil as well as a submarine.Alan Grant( w), Eric Bradbury( a)."Doomlord - The Return of Zyn" Eagle(6 April to 20 July 1985). IPC Magazines. I am sure that the success of Eagle (a sell-out of 900,000copies of its first issue) was due to the insistance [sic] on quality. Where Eagle was concerned, the quality of the paper, printing, artwork and writing set a new standard. There were bright colours, well-drawn pictures and exciting stories. Technically, the Eagle strips marked an advance on the standards of that time (standards that had stood still for years) when most strips were not true strips but merely pictures with captions underneath. Julian: Those planet boards also were easily bent, slightly, to give a curved horizon. Plastikard was/is a trade name for sheet plastic, for modelling. It’s still available! Merged with #306 from Battle Storm Force (IPC, 1987 series) #23 January 1988 [664]merged with #29 October 1988 [345] from MASK (IPC, 1986 series) #80 Tomlinson was by now the title's editor. April 1990 saw the title given a makeover as The New Eagle; at the behest of Egmont, the logo was also updated. [6] This failed to halt the slide, however, and from May 1991 the title was switched to a monthly schedule, [2] Tomlinson as editor [6] before finally shutting down in 1994. Eagle was founded by John Marcus Harston Morris (1915–1989). Morris was born in the Lancashire town of Preston, and in 1918 moved to Southport. He graduated from Brasenose College, Oxford with a second-class degree in Literae Humaniores, and at Wycliffe Hall gained a second in theology in 1939. He became a priest the following year, and served as a chaplain in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve from 1941 to 1943. [6] The Nelson Lee Library completely indexed from issue #1 (12th June 1915), through its amalgamation with Gem and beyond. Details the name of the story and its writer. An incredible index. Fraser of Africa, one of Bellamy's artistic high-water marks, was not his idea but, as he was obsessed with Africa, he was the perfect choice to draw it. Bellamy used a monochromatic sepia colour palette to reflect the sun and desert locale, with occasional bursts of bright colour. It was a challenging and unusual approach and Fraser of Africa became the Eagle's most popular strip. Bellamy insisted on proper research and even had a reader living in East Africa supplying reference material. Tomlinson had created the new fortnightly Wildcat shortly after Battle's closure. The title was a science fiction anthology with the five strips all being centred on the exploits of different characters from the eponymous spacecraft. However, it failed to find an audience and merged with Eagle after only 12 issues, with the four main features from the comic rotating until petering out in 1990.
