About this deal

It is so beloved, I named mine after my late, great little terrier "Ole Rusty." I would have never bestowed such an honored name on a piece of gear unless that gear was worthy. The fact that the drum sequencer outputs eight separate CV outs is not only good for percussion but for all manner of other uses. In reality, you are looking at eight rhythmic triggers, so you could use these to launch all manner of events in your modular system, from strumming Mutable Instruments Rings to triggering a sample & hold, or countless other CV-based possibilities. When the classic MS-20 analog synthesizer appeared in 1978, it had a trusted partner in the SQ-10 step sequencer. Now, after thirty years, the MS-20 has been reborn as the MS-20 mini, and the SQ-10 has evolved into the more modern SQ-1. The MS20M is a thing of rare beauty and even to someone like myself, barely capable of assembling a sandwich, there’s no denying the DIY angle brings you closer to your new instrument. Whether this model represents the ultimate MS20 probably boils down to the importance you assign to having an attached keyboard, to the idea of playing a complete instrument. With both popular CV and gate standards provided, plus MIDI on any channel, at least it shouldn’t be difficult to find a suitable controller. Rather than the commonly used V/Oct standard, the CV design of the MS-20 always used the Hz/V standard that provides excellent pitch stability limiting the step sequencers that are able to correctly control the MS-20. As a descendant of the SQ-10, the SQ-1 supports the Hz/V standard, enabling it to perfectly control the MS-20 or MS-20 mini. It goes without saying the V/Oct standard is also supported, and the voltage level of the CV output (*) and polarity of the GATE output can be specified as appropriate for the device you've connected. This versatility will enable you to control a wide variety of other synthesizers as well.

I can’t think of an option that isn’t catered for here. That just about covers it for getting up and running, so how about the fun stuff? Well, you choose a pattern, of which there are 64 user-saveable (same for songs, or projects, as Korg calls them), set a pattern length, rotation …and get sequencing! Korg shall not be obliged to provide support services for any Third Party Software supplied (whether relating to operating methods, defects, or otherwise). Korg warrants that the Licensed Program when properly used will provide the facilities and functions as described in the accompanying documentation but does not warrant that the operation of the Licensed Program will be uninterrupted or error-free. You agrees that the express obligations and warranties made by Korg in this Agreement are (so far as is permitted by law) in lieu of and to the exclusion of any other warranty, condition, term, undertaking or representation of any kind, express or implied, statutory or otherwise, relating to anything supplied or services provided under or in connection with this Agreement including (without limitation) any warranty as to the condition, quality, performance, merchantability or fitness for purpose of the Licensed Program and the Services or any part of them. If any part of this Agreement is found by a court of competent jurisdiction or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable then such part shall be severed from the remainder of this Agreement which will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.You can specify the way in which the step knobs control the pitch. The knob values can specify the pitch directly, or they can specify the closest note in a major, minor, or chromatic scale. As a connector, the SQ-1 provides two CV/GATE OUT channels, the standard MIDI OUT and USB MIDI, littleBits out (to connect to the littleBits synth kit by littleBits Electronics Inc.), plus the SYNC IN/OUT channel that allows you to connect to the volca series and monotribe. Compact and complete with all the functions you need, the SQ-1 is the ideal hardware sequencer.

For melodic sequencing duties and flexible hardware control, this is one of the best devices on the market. This library does not provide owner’s manuals and product information for all of the products sold by the Company. Owner’s manuals or product information may not be available for all products indefinitely or at all, and may be permanently discontinued at the Company’s discretion. You can also set the CV output voltages (1V, 2V, 5V V/Oct or 8V Hz/V options) for interfacing with different equipment by holding function and specific step buttons, so even more eclectic CV/Gate gear is accommodated. The 2 x 8 step buttons can be used in the usual way to turn notes on/off, but you can also use the MODE button to switch their function, opening up powerful possibilities such as letting you “perform” the sequence itself, as on a Volca unit. Active Step" lets you skip steps mid-way through a sequence, and "Step Jump" lets you instantly play just the step that you press, producing irregular rhythms or effects that are reminiscent of short loops. "Slide" produces an effect in which steps are connected smoothly; using this to control a synth bass is an easy way for anyone to generate an acid sound. https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/articles/115004269166-MIDI-Device-is-not-recognized-on-WindowsSOFTWARE LICENSING AGREEMENT

Korg, in no event, will be liable for the direct, derivative, collateral or consequential damage caused by the use of or the inability of using the Licensed Program (including but not limited to damage of data, lost commercial profit, interruption of work, lost commercial information), regardless of the degree of damages, and even if Korg was aware of the possibility of such damages or the possibility of a claim for damage from a third party in advance. If supplied in conjunction with any Korg instrument or equipment, such Third Party Software shall only relate to the non-essential functions of such instrument or equipment. It’s been mentioned before that the earlier filter is a tad noisy — and so it is — but this barely detracts from its value. In contrast, the Rev 2 filter is more refined and controlled, its resonance exhibiting a shimmering, ringing quality that is a pleasant alternative to the bitter and often distorted harmonic mess of the older version. In the end, both are excellent, and there’s no doubt you’re spoilt by having the choice. The Korg MS20 rides again... again! The latest version takes the form of an expanded desktop module with accompanying sequencer. You hereby agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the aforementioned territory, without regards to conflicts of law provisions. If Third Party Software has been supplied (whether in conjunction with any Korg instrument or equipment, or as a stand-alone product) a notice to that effect will be contained with or on the disk supplied and in such circumstances Korg shall be deemed to be acting as the agent only of the supplier of such Third Party Software.
