I allowed the lawn in my front garden to grow to around 60mm, despite having given it the first cut of the season the week before testing the LawnMaster VBRM16. For this, I used the 40mm cutting height but there are five options to choose from between 20mm and 60mm which I thought was more than adequate. SOLID & RELIABLE - The LawnMaster L10 robotic lawn mower is from a brand you can trust. The L10 is tough, durable, IPX5 rated to be fully waterproof and comes with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty. All the robotic mowers follow a mapping system to navigate. You need to set an area using boundary wire and you can also peg it around obstacles. When a robotic mower reaches its boundary wire it changes the direction.
It’s designed to cut up to 100m² and has a 16cm cutting width. Combine this with the four hour run time, which I’ll talk more about shortly, and you’ve got something that’s going to deliver an even cut without running out of power. The boundary wire is the only guidance they have, and they will move around your garden for a set period or until they need to return to their base station for a recharge. The mower moves in a random direction and hence it can cover the lawn with irregular shapes as well. Moreover, you don’t have to worry about the grass disposal, because the mower cuts them into tiny pieces and leaves them in the lawn. If you are someone that doesn’t want the hassle of using a complicated advanced robotic lawn mower, then the LawnMaster VBRM16 will be right up your street. It’s a brilliant entry level robot mower as operation is as good as fool proof. What’s more, it’s incredibly affordable so you won’t need to spend a lot of money to familiarise yourself with this type of technology. It’s weatherproof and capable of mowing in both sunshine and rain, while it can be cleaned using a garden hose. The cutting heights can be adjusted from 20 to 50 mm, and it runs at just 57 dB, so it’ll mow overnight without disturbing anyone.
How much does a robot lawn mower cost?
What do I mean by this? Well, unlike most robotic mowers, this one isn’t designed to be left outside all the time. It’s a drop and go machine which can be charged indoors and then you simply need to pop it on the ground and let it do its thing. There are many advantages to this which I’ll dive into in my LawnMaster VBRM16 review. Most robot lawn mowers then require you to set up a scheduled mowing time, which is either done on the mower itself or by using an app. As there is no smartphone app with this mower, you do not get notifications if the mower is moved/taken like you do with the WORX range of robotic mowers. What’s Included In The Box? As you can see in my video review, the LawnMaster L10 benefits from a PIN system. This means that no unauthorised access to the robotic mower will be possible and makes theft nigh on impossible. While the LawnMaster VBRM16 is a simple robot mower, it does come with a couple of essential safety features that make it a great tool for all homes, even those with children. Lift and Tilt Sensors
However, most robot lawn mowers now come with effective safety features , such as a collision detection system. This allows your mower to stop and turn before it bumps into an obstacle, but it’ll also prevent it from crashing into people or pets. Yard Force mower leaves all the grass cuttings on the lawn. So, you don’t have to think about disposing of them. This process is referred to as mulch, wherein these tiny grass cuttings feed the lawn so that it can become greener and healthier. All this while maintaining a low noise level, because you don’t want to disturb the neighbourhood on a Sunday morning.
