About this deal

The VI13800 is an essential tool for proving electrical circuits are dead before carrying out maintenance and installation work in accordance with safe isolation procedures. The VI13800 ensures safety through simplicity, with no ranges, switches or batteries, reducing the risk of an incorrect reading. Martindale are currently the market leaders in Voltage Detection and the latest update to the VIPD Kit continues their reputation for highly accurate test equipment. Martindale have replaced the fuse in favour of a high wattage resistor in the probe that limits the current in the event of a damaged cable. This allows for a reduction of the flow under a potential fault making the device much safer to use. It is interesting to point out that many competitors do not have any kind of protection within their probes. The PD430 adds a lower voltage range of 50V. This is because 50V can be lethal so it is important for extra safety that you can prove your voltage indicator will illuminate at 50V, which is a requirement of IEC 61243.

Ideal for proving indicators and measurement devices up to 230V AC or DC in domestic and commercial applications The PD690 can also be used to prove 690V Drummond LED lamps and other filament test lamps as its output is sufficient to illuminate the bulb. There is no specific requirement to replace the VI13700 products which are in use. NB Proper proving procedures should always be used with any voltage indicator. The VI13800 provides instant visual AC and DC voltage indication in four stages from 50V to 400V. The bright long life LED indicators give clear and immediate display of the voltage level range. It has retractable probes, heavy duty finger guards and a two layer double insulated cable with a white inner core to give clear indication of damage that might compromise the user’s safety. The new VI-15000 has a 1000V CATIV safety rating and LED indication for AC/DC voltages from 50V to 690V and above, ensuring compliance with health and safety recommendations for safe working in all BS EN61010 installation categories. It’s the simplest and most reliable way to ensure circuits have been de-energised and properly isolated prior to maintenance and modifications. The Martindale VT12PD-S Voltage Tester & Proving Unit Kit can be used to maintain compliance with safe isolation and proving dead procedures. To this end it includes: A Voltage Indicator should always be tested against a live source or proving unit to confirm the long term reliability of results given whilst testing live circuits. Proving Unit Kits are a combination of proving units and voltage indicators, similar to the Martindale VIPD150 kit where both devices are carried in a dedicated pouch for easy transportation. Measuring voltages from 50V to 690V, it has a versatile range for several voltage testers. Why Choose RS for a Martindale Proving Unit?

The latest design complies with the new standard relating to 2 pole voltage indicator, BS EN61243-3 and the requirements of GS38 Edition 4 2015. The latest version of BS EN61243-3:2010 came fully in to force in May 2013 and all voltage indicators on the British & European market should comply. The VI13800 replaces the industry standard VI13700. The Martindale PD440S Proving Unit is a compact, lightweight addition for any operator performing safe isolation procedures. Ensuring tester accuracy, both poles are matched to the corresponding terminal on the device, which will then provide a continuous supply of 440V, 50Hz volts. The output will last for up to 10 seconds or less if the probe tips are removed beforehand. The Martindale VT28 is a tough, compact two pole tester with both LCD and LED displays for measuring AC/DC voltages from 12V to 690V. Additional capabilities include continuity and phase rotation testing plus single pole voltage detection. The PPD690 is compatible with Martindale VI-15000 and other 690V voltage indicators. This model is suitable for proving any 690V two pole voltage tester, with LED or LCD indication and will illuminate all LEDs up to 690V.

The Martindale PD440S is a direct replacement for the industry standard PD440. Its voltage output is matched to the VI13800, the MTL10 and MTL20 Drummond test lamps and all other 440V voltage indicators and testers. A safe isolation set including a Martindale VI13800 Voltage Indicator, PD440S Proving Unit, and TC71 Combination Carry Case Martindale TB118KITA Gas Engineer Electrical Safety KitMartindale TB118KITA includes all the essential test tools to keep gas service engineers safe and achieve compliance with the latest changes to Gas Safe Register Technical Bulletin TB118A.

The 440V industry-leading PD440S Proving Unit is suitable for verifying high and low impedance voltage testers; for maximum convenience, it can be used through the TC71 Carry Case. The Martindale VI13800 Voltage Indicator can identify voltages between 50V and 600V AC/DC; it includes dedicated LEDs for indicating the voltage range. The Martindale VI13800 Voltage Indicator also features a bright LED for polarity indication. Finally, it is GS38 and BS EN61243-3 compliant and features a heavy-duty, double-insulated cable with a contrasting inner core to reveal any damage. Based on the industry endorsed VI-13800, the new CAT IV design not only provides improved protection against voltage transients, but also includes a high wattage resistor that will limit the current in the event of damage to the cable in accordance with BS EN61243-3. The protection is built in where it’s needed, in the handheld probe assembly rather than just in the instrument providing superior protection for the user to other testers. Voltage indicators should prove the normal working voltage. The use of higher voltages than seen in the real world can be misleading. The Martindale VIPD150-S contains the VI-15000 voltage indicator and the PD690S proving device, enabling you to comply with health and safety recommendations for safe working. In addition to the benefits of the industry standard Martindale PD440 and PD690 proving units, the S models feature a tough overmoulded low profile case and come with an MG3 magnetic hanger (excluding kits). They are fast and easy to use, instantly supplying the test voltage for both high and low impedance voltage indicators, test lamps and meters. On completion of the high voltage test, a low resistance appears across the terminals to verify the continuity function of two pole testers.
