About this deal

What's even better is that it's easily removable. Just unzip it, toss it in a washer, set the heat to 40°C and cycle to gentle and be done with it. Your cover will be as fresh and as clean as day one. In reality, this new AirTech foam (also used in the Original Hybrid OTTY mattress) is an open-cell foam that's not as dense as the regular one and is, therefore, more breathable. However, in the real world, there's only so much you can do to make foam genuinely breathable.

The OTTY Hybrid is made up of four and a half different layers. How is it possible to have “half” a layer, you ask? Well, OTTY have added “side bolster support”. Strictly speaking it has four layers, but this innovation I have not seen on a mattress before, so wanted to give it an extra point. I really believe it’s a game-changer. Not necessarily, no. Memory foam pillows are only better than other types of pillows if they meet your personal needs! All jokes aside, this one truthfully strikes gold in terms of support as far as mid-range foam pillows go. There isn't much we'd do differently even if we were to design a pillow for optimal support. Is OTTY Deluxe pillow eco-friendly or sustainable? Anyway, onto the hybrid tech: the springs! Unlike some other brands like Simba, the spring layer in this mattress is actually quite generous: around 56% of the entire composition of the mattress is from the springs. The rest – 44% is from the memory foam layers.

To cut things short, the OTTY Deluxe Pillow is neither eco-friendly nor sustainable. Just like any other memory foam pillow encased in polyester. These are materials that have many amazing features, but are not beneficial for our environment. The situation is slightly better when recycled polyester is used, but to our knowledge OTTY used virgin polyester. How did we test the product? There’s a whole world of pillow fillings out there, so we’ve summarised the pros and cons of the various types below. To sum up – our testers gave it an 8 out of 10. So, not bad. Not bad at all. OTTY DELUXE VS OTTY DELUXE PURE – Comparison table For instance, if you sleep on your side, you may want something with a bit more loft. And if you’re someone who is prone to overheating at night, it’s important to be aware that some pillows – particularly memory foam ones – may feel warmer than others. Different sleepers will get on better with different pillows, and it’s important to bear that in mind when testing.According to the mattress comparison table above, I think it’s important to note that the Emma Hybrid does come with a much longer free night trial period– 200 nights. The OTTY Hybrid has a significantly shorter one, indeed it is literally half as long, at 100 nights… The mattress has an ‘Airflow system’ which sees small perforations throughout that allow air to circulate freely throughout the mattress, removing excess heat. Testing this mattress in winter in a room that was 18 degrees, I didn’t notice feeling either too warm or too cool. Again to confirm, both the Otty and the Emma that I am reviewing here below, are both hybrids. At a glance: OTTY vs Emma Hybrids

Key specs – Filling: Memory foam; Cover: 45% Ice Yarn, 55% polyester (machine washable); Sizes: Standard size onlyWhere relevant, we also take into account other aspects including trial periods, washable covers and extra features – such as adjustable and ergonomic designs – all of which can play a part in our recommendations.
