Besides all the fun provided by Sofia the First Games, you also get to know a lot of exciting things about our Princess Sofia! For instance, you will find out that Sofia is a simple girl from the village. She lives an ordinary life along with her mother in the beautiful Kingdom of Enchancia. But her life changes when her mother marries King Roland the Second. Sofia becomes a princess overnight, and now she has to learn what it is like to be a princess. The castle is a large, elegant, European-styled castle. It has many colorful towers and windows. The castle is fronted by a long, paved bridge that leads to the Village of Dunwiddie, and surrounded by a large wall with a gate. It is built upon a lush island in the middle of a large lake. In the horizon, hills and plains can be seen. A young girl named Sofia and her widowed mother, Miranda, have lived a peasant life in the kingdom of Enchancia. One day, the widowed King Roland of Enchancia and Miranda fall in love and get married. As she eases into her new role as a princess, Sofia goes on numerous adventures. She also bonds with her new family, including her step-siblings Amber and James, and settles into her new royal school, where Flora, Fauna and Merryweather from Sleeping Beauty are headmistresses. Amber is the last character to speak in this special, making her the last character to speak in the entire series.After trying to take Sofia's amulet for the first time, Cedric points to an imaginary wristwatch. Apparently, there are some secret passageways underneath the castle that lead to a Secret Library! But how are we ever going to find the entrance? Thankfully, the wise rabbit Clover knows his way around the castle and can lead you to its location. However, there are plenty of obstacles in the way!

It seems to be technologically advanced, as the castle has a hand-cranked elevator to move between floors, and a magnificent observatory with a powerful telescope. The kingdom practices absolute primogeniture in regards to the royal succession, where the first-born child inherits the throne regardless of gender, though for a time it was believed by Roland that the first-born son inherited. However a first-born child can choose to abdicate the throne in favour of a younger sibling, if so desired. As shown in the special Elena and the Secret of Avalor, Sofia just needs to wish to become a mermaid without having to wet her feet like before.

This is the second time Amber finds out about Sofia's amulet being magical and desires a magical amulet of her own, the first being "The Curse of Princess Ivy". Sofia is shown to be a precocious girl who believes the proof is in the pudding. This fuels a side of her that is very investigative and skeptical. She tends to try to juggle more than she can handle, especially when it comes to her friends, and value making herself as multifaceted as possible. This side also gives her trust issues that make her go off on her own without telling anybody and keep secrets from everyone except her Aunt Tilly and her mermaid friend, Princess Oona. Ruby is one of Sofia's best friends from before she became a princess, along with Jade. Despite this major change, they all remain close friends. Ruby is slightly kinder than Jade, and is the daughter of Helen Hanshaw, the leader of Sofia's Buttercup Troop. Sofia and Ruby are best friends, along with Jade. In the third season, Vivian has to move from her original castle into a new one, making her very unhappy about having to leave her music room. At first, she tried to use Sofia's Wee Sprite friends to scare her parents out of the castle, but with a little help from Sofia, she came to love her new home. After getting the Wee Sprites out, she showed her parents the enchanted garden that came with their new home and declared it her new favorite spot in the whole world.
