Varipump is suitable to use as a dry pump on a gravity fed system, the pump is not self-priming so a non-return valve needs to be used if the water level is below the pump. Varipump can be submersed in water, as part of a pump fed system. When installing on pump fed systems ensure we recommend using the hosetails provided to connect up to flexible hose (not supplied). Tighten the pump fittings only as much as is required to ensure a tight connection. Excessive torque is unnecessary and may cause damage to the pump. The Evolution Aqua Varipumps are supplied with 2m of cable to the weatherproof control box and then 10m from the control box to the pump, this 10m cable has a cable connector so the pump can be easily disconnected from the control box. You would have thought I’d learned my lesson with this company, but unfortunately I bought an automatic feeder from them.
