About this deal

the settlor had made potentially exempt transfers in the seven years prior to the start of the trust that had (before the proportionate charge) become chargeable transfers because of the settlor’s death. Follow the process set out in the table below. When calculating percentages round up to 3 percentage points (decimal places), e.g. 3.756%. The main play feature is driving the hauler around – and that works pretty well. The app allows you to play with either automatic or manual transmission. While not fast, it moves along pretty cleanly. The turning radius is the main issue here, as it takes a LOT of space for this thing to corner. Model is completely motorized, with 3 motors, and controlled by official 42114 profile in Control+ app

The linear actuators operate the tipper smoothly although the maximum angle achievable is not quite that of the real vehicle, which is 70 degrees. In “display mode,” there is at least one nice feature to share. The engine cover can be raised and propped open using a Technic rod. As I noted earlier, the engine build is pretty sweet, and having a way to show it off is a plus.

But perhaps LEGO is working on a strategy of planned obsolescence. Once they discontinue the last set tied to this app-based platform, they can let it wither and die. They then might have plausible deniability and suffer few consequences in sales as a result. Then they can just move on to the next very expensive powering system that requires additional investment by fans, old and new. So I already talked about how you have to have the Control+ App to play with this model. As big of a minus as that requirement is, there’s very little to complain about with the app itself. I was able to get early access, and I’ll take you through a few of the key features. The Control+ app gets a new entry to handle the Volvo, obviously, using the same art as the box to identify things. This is an incredible set! It looks amazing, but I didn't feel like a lot of the build time was spend just to make it look pretty, like I had with for instance the 42100-1 Liebherr. Everything feels functional. The build went smooth, but is challenging as there are multiple places where a mistake can cause a lot of re-doing. So you need to keep your attention.

This model needs some additional tinkering for calibrating, you need to remove upper actuators mounts and replace them with these mounts:

obsolescence/longevity: just because an OS or App doesn‘t get any updates anymore (at some point in the future) doesn‘t mean the product stops working and becomes useless! My original iPhone still works quite well today, over a decade after I got it - I only had to change the battery once. So next time you get a new phone, keep the old one around for Lego use. Building can start without batteries, but to enjoy the full power and cool technical functions of this app-controlled toy you'll need to provide 6 x AA 1.5V batteries. If both of the above apply the notional transfer is simply A + B, i.e. the original value of the relevant property gifted to the trustees by the settlor. Charges prior to 18 November 2015 I'm considering buying the set eventually as the basis for a MOD/MOC, make it a manual or PF(non-RC) model and selling the C+ components to soften the pricetag. The suspension is an interesting challenge to take on, but it will have to wait while I'm working on another suspension related project.

I understand the reasoning to save paper, but in doing so, the designer's efforts are essentially wasted instead. Let me preface the next bit by saying that as an electronics and software engineer this subject is right up my alley - or to put it simply: I know what I‘m talking about."charge the balance at the lifetime rate of 20% and express that as percentage of the transfer and multiply by 30% (the initial rate)
