About this deal

Ned Feehally explains Beastmaker's Training Plan specifically developed for hang boarding beginners. Introduction If you’re on the market for a new blender, the Beast Blender is a brilliant choice. It may be targeted to health-conscious smoothie lovers, but the Beast can do so much more. Anything that requires blending can be tossed in the trendy vessel, including frozen fruits and vegetables. The proprietary 12-rib design assures a smooth blend every time, leaving no ice behind. You can use these in combination or on their own to vary the intensity of each exercise allowing a lot of adjustment to the difficulty. This helps you to avoid hitting plateaus in your progression. To make the exercises harder you can: You can mix up the variables between sessions to keep the exercise fresh, while still training the same grip type. Intuitive blending: each cycle is 60 seconds. After 20 seconds, the Beast slows down to let ingredients settle before blending again. This prevents ingredients from blending on the bottom but not the top.

Since we are gluing two wood boards together, we have to make sure that they are perfectly flat on all 6 faces, and that adjacent faces are orthogonal. This is where a jointer and planer comes into play. I won't elaborate on how they work here. Once you get your boards into perfect rectangular prisms, use a miter saw to cut them to be about an inch longer than the template's width. Then, use a table saw to shave the board lengthwise so that the height of the hangboard template is exactly the same as the width of the board. I first started on making the bottom row of holds on the bottom board. If you recall the Beastmaker 1000 design, the bottom row of holds are very shallow, and only requires a single board to create. This is also good practice with the handheld router, since it doesn't require me to drill through any pieces of wood or align two boards with holes. This shows the outline of your training plan. I suggest you note down exactly which holds you are using for each set, that way you will always train on the same holds and progress can be measured accurately. Warm up – it is very important to warm up properly! We make Beastmakers out of tulipwood (from the poplar tree, liriodendron tulipifera). We chose this wood as it comes from sustainable sources, it carves and finishes well and it has a great texture for training on. It’s smooth, yet has enough grip to feel solid under your fingertips while hanging even the most marginal holds.

Conclusion

Reduce hanging time and increase resting time for each hang. Instead of 7sec hang and 3sec rest, hang for 6 sec and rest for 4, or hang for 5 and rest for 5.

Practice using the handheld router on a piece of scrap first! If you are inexperienced with the router, practice first! Make sure that you can precisely create holes to the depth you want. finger open handed hang on either hold 3 or hold 4 (2 handed hang using hold 3 or 4 for the left hand and the corresponding hold for the right hand). This is an open handed hang so don’t put your thumb over your fingers (i.e. the crimp position). Complete the set as detailed above. 3 mins rest.

These tiny edges are designed to test and train your crimp strength to the max. They come as a set of 6 holds in 3 pairs, 10mm, 8mm, 6mm in depth. This should give you plenty of options for training your crimp strength, weather you're fairly new to climbing, or a seasoned Font 8C beast. Now, put away the bottom board and take out the fresh top board. We will be making some through holes. Because the top and middle rows of holds on the Beastmaker 1000 are deeper than a single board, we'd have to drill through the top board, and then later align the holes with those on the bottom board. The Beastmaker offers no real pinch training. While this model has a lot going for it, pinches of any kind aren't what it's about. Ease of Mounting Use this if you are new to climbing, or just new to training and want a simple plan that is fast, easy to follow and will lead to strength gains. You can add to this plan or tweak it to fit your own needs after experimenting with it for a few sessions. I recommend you use the Beastmaker 1000 for this training plan, although it can easily be done on a Beastmaker 2000, or many of the other resin fingerboards that are available. Warm up on the climbing wall/fingerboard for at least 15mins. Take your time with the warm up. If you start training without fully warming up you are at a much greater risk of injury. Finger injuries are nasty and take a long time to heal. You should do your very best to avoid them.
