About this deal

Without doubt one of the best series I ever read not just because it's a retelling and continuation of my favorite book ever - Pride and Prejudice. After overhearing part of a conversation, Darcy, desperate to leave London and Lizzy's presence, takes Georgiana and goes to Bath. He is hoping the change in scenery will help him forget the ache in his heart and the despair in his soul. The Colonel, who has some interesting news of his own to impart, soon joins them. When I read this book I was a lot like the Matt at the beginning of the story so he was definitely someone that I understood and I could also relate to. He had suffered losses that were extremely painful (the death of his son and divorce from his wife) and because of it, he had become severely depressed and felt like he couldn’t continue living. Regardless of how he chose to deal with his grief I felt like Matt was a good man, a strong man. For years after his son’s death, he had carried on living even though he didn’t think he had anything worth living for. And considering the story took place within the span of about a week to a month the drastic change was quite remarkable because the version of Matt that greets you at the beginning of the story and the Matt that bids you farewell at the end are two completely different people. He went from a hollow shell wilting away, to a man making an effort to live because he finally found the will to do so. This third volume was the most interesting for me. Partly, of course, because the couple finally sorted out all their misunderstanding and got together. But I enjoy JAFF most when there is angst and sexual tensions. I found lots of the former within this volume. I can take or leave bedroom scenes but there are none in this trilogy. I did enjoy how Georgiana and Anne were rooting for Darcy, even when he thought he had lost Elizabeth, due to eavesdropping (you know what they say about that).

With the emotional stakes and the mother-son bond that made No Return so unforgettable, Desperate Measures sees Rowan step up to try and pay off Finn’s staggering debts after he was manipulated into a drug deal. Already struggling to pay off those of her absent father, Rowan seems to have no other option but being involved in a heist. The target in question? The same bank she works at, of course. But any price is worth paying if it keeps Finn alive, she reasons. Is Desperate Measures based on a true story? It's a really compelling, exciting series and a good story to watch, but it's really about a mother's love and I hope that's what people take away from it,” she declared. "It's about what she'll do for her child and whether she gets away with it or not, and it's up to the audience to draw their own moral conclusions. If people go away talking about that, then I'll be very happy." Who’s in the Desperate Measures cast and where have you seen them before? MAIN CHARACTERS: Elizabeth Bennet. Fitzwilliam Darcy, Jane Bennet, Charles Bingley, Colonel Fitzwilliam, Georgiana Darcy, Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner, Nicholas Harington (new original character), Serena Seavington (new original character) Best-selling author Morrell is at the top of his craft. The in-depth characterization, believable and unpredictable plot developments, and psychological depths of this thriller will draw all readers.” Pete and Annie continued to see each other, although not too often. She hadn't seen him in a year and he called, drunk, from Thailand. He asked her to marry him because they wanted the same things. She told him to call and ask her when he was sober. She told him that Dennis had asked her to marry him too. Annie waited for Pete to call but he never did. The only thing he remembered of the conversation was that she said no and that Dennis had asked her to marry him too. He thought that was what she wanted. Pete didn't like Dennis and Annie didn't like him much either. He just wanted money and would comprise his morals to get it. Pete didn't like the fact that he talked about himself so much and what he had. He didn't like the fact that Dennis seemed jealous of what Pete had and made comments about his wealth.

Casualty and Sherwood star Sunetra Sarker stars in the Channel 5 TV show’s cast as Varisha - a colleague and friend of Rowan’s at the bank who becomes embroiled in the plan too. Rowan’s dad Mal is played by Francis Magee who’s appeared in everything from the movie Layer Cake with Daniel Craig to Vera season 12. In Desperate Measures Mal has already abandoned Rowan leaving behind huge debts and the pair haven’t spoken in many years. We fight during the day, but when night comes, we play out every fantasy I’ve never allowed myself to admit to having. I can’t hide them from Jafar, though. We know each other—and the dark desires we share—far too well. He sees to my every need, no matter how carnal or extravagant. It’s almost enough for me to be happy… The trilogy, A Fair Prospect, is outstanding. I give it a 5 star rating, as well as 5 stars to each volume. I am still amazed at the way Cassandra Grafton is able to get into the minds of her characters, and make me feel with them every moment of despair, agony, sadness, elation, joy and relief.

After reading all three I felt I should write how much I enjoyed this series. I actually would have worked well as a single, much longer book because each story just continues from where the previous book left off. The beginning of each new book starts off like a new chapter instead of a new thought or story, and the entire three-part series takes place in a two-week time period. Thankfully, I discovered these books after all three had been published.

Most writers love what they do and I’m no exception. I love it when I get a germ of an idea and get it down on paper. I love breathing life into my characters. I love writing about women who persevere and prevail because that’s what I had to do to get to this point in time. It’s another way of saying it doesn’t matter where you’ve been, what matters is where you’re going and how you get there. The day I finally prevailed was the day I was inducted into the New Jersey Literary Hall of Fame. For me it was an awesome day and there are no words to describe it. A great pleasurable read which totally satisfies my needs what I desire in a lovable and definitely worthy retelling of this timeless classic in literature. Georgiana and Anne: I love it when other characters catch on about Darcy’s feelings for Elizabeth! It is so diverting to see what they do with this knowledge – how they try to help, manipulate, and matchmake! I especially enjoyed seeing Georgiana and Anne in cahoots with each other. I love when these two cousins come closer together, since we don’t see that at all in Pride and Prejudice. Wow! I LOVED this story! Desperate Measures is the third and the last of the A Fair Prospect trilogy. I have enjoyed all three of them! If you are an ardent admirer of Pride and Prejudice variations, then you need to do yourself a favor and devour this expressive and eloquent trilogy, if you haven’t already! Filled with soul-searching, slow-paced exhilaration, and sweeping romance, Cassandra Grafton’s A Fair Prospect is definitely one of my favorites! Big applause to Cassandra Grafton for such a remarkable story!

Volume III lives up to its predecessors and is every bit as good as Volume I and II. The story built to a very rewarding finish. The author stays consistent in her writing of beautiful Regency language. She never falters. Her original characters stay true to their nature throughout the trilogy and her new characters are charming and well written. All three books are exceptional and I highly recommend them.Kay Scarpetta ( Patricia Cornwell): got rich somehow? I forget? Lucy's money is part of it, and I guess she earned some & married some? Anyway. Late Scarpetta books, probably around when she switched to 1st person, have had a clammy glumness to them. But I liked early/mid Scarpetta a whole lot and still retain affection.

Nicholas and Serena: Two original characters crafted by Ms. Grafton were added to this story. Both who have a long history and close familiarity to our heroine. I adored these two characters, they were wonderfully well-drawn and triggered some interesting developments to the plot. Especially since they have their own sets of conflicts and bring more conflict as Darcy makes some assumptions about Nicholas’s relationship with Elizabeth!Within a few hours, Matt goes from being a suicidal obituary writer to being a fugitive, on the run and trying to save the life he was so eager to take only a few short hours before. He also manages to get an innocent woman entangled in his mess; a nurse named Jill who helped take care of Wingate during his brief stay at the hospital. Together, the two take on a life of espionage and stealth as they try to outrun and outsmart the practically invisible assassins trying to kill them while they attempt to prove their innocence. Also in the Desperate Measures cast are Gábor Nagypál as criminal Kristof who threatened Finn Taylor, Seb Cardinal as bank boss Clive Powell and Harry Rose Kristof’s courier Conor. Where was Desperate Measures filmed? Pittman says he is the sum of the stories he has written. Newspaperman as Main Character allows Pittman to call on the expertise of various people he has interviewed over the years---an interesting device that allows a regular guy to get out of some harrowing situations. As Pittman defends himself and digs further into the murders and the stories they reveal, he uncovers decades of political intrigue. A Man Who Answers All Our Wishes: This Darcy is. All. The. Things. *sigh* I don’t know what else to say, except that this has to be one of my favorite portrayals of Mr. Darcy! He is a deep-feeling and passionate man, strong, loyal, and incredibly honorable. I loved that he immediately confessed his wrongs to Bingley and continued to do right by Elizabeth, even though he believed there was no future for them.
