About this deal

I side-loaded smart tube and now can get add free music videos on screen, can cast to phone and amazingly mirror to tv. The high-definition 6" LCD touch screen perfectly integrated into the aluminum chassis of the DMP-A6 Master Edition allows practical and ergonomic use. The user experience is intended to be as intuitive as possible. Thus, it is possible to access all player options and information through this beautiful interface. But of course, this isn’t just a standard DAC. The built-in streaming aspect makes it possible that many users won’t use those digital inputs very often, if at all. There is also a set of digital outputs featuring RCA, Toslink, USB, and HDMI (with a unique twist, but more on that later) for those eyeing the Eversolo as a digital transport. This aspect allows for the DMP-A6 to be used as a main source now whilst promising future relevance down the road when the budget allows for a DAC upgrade. Of course, this only matters if the device performs at a high enough level on transport duties – which thankfully does seem to be the case.

The DMP-A6 Master Edition can be controlled from a smartphone or tablet using the free Eversolo Controller mobile app. This will allow you to simply access your music while enjoying a remote interface for easy use from your sofa. Specifications Model The DMP-A6's DAC settings offer 7 filters applicable to your music listening preferences. In addition, custom VU meters are available for on-screen display itself built into a sturdy, modern-looking aluminum chassis. Smart control app Firstly, Stellar job by Audio Emotion. Perfect service and I'll definitely be buying more from these guys again. A simple volume dial with a subtle LED glow around it completes the front panel. We like how you can control the brightness of the screen and the LED dial ring in varying increments. It’s a nice little touch in a product full of thoughtful little extras. Another extra feature? You can choose various spectrum visualisers or VU meter displays to be shown on screen – or neither – to add a layer of interest and retro charm to your streamer. You can also easily run your CD player or other digital transport into the DMP-A6 and take advantage of the exceptionally clean internal DAC and pre-amp circuits. It works very well as a digital hub for streaming and DAC duties and is excellent as part of a headphone system running it into an external headphone amplifier.

Choose Product Model

Eversolo has made an excellent streamer with well-implemented ESS DAC chips and an excellent pre-amp stage. The design of the streamer, and the layout of the menus are excellent and it really is a very impressive device for the money. AT A GLANCE

I will say this right off the bat. I’ve heard a good amount of ES9038 DACs and I’ve come to the conclusion that designs with a really good implementation of a ES9038PRO or any ESS DAC will almost always have very little to no “Sabre Glare” that a lot of ESS DACs are known for in the audio community. That’s not to say that “Sabre Glare” is bad but that those who steer away from ESS DACs for that reason might want to give something like the DAC-Z8 a try. We test the Eversolo plugged into our reference PMC Cor integrated amplifier and Epos ES14N speakers, as well as more price-compatible kit such as the Arcam A5 amp and KEF LS50 speakers. We play songs from various sources: hi-res files stored on our Naim Uniti Core server and laptop, songs streamed from Tidal Connect, Apple Music, BBC 6 Radio and more. With its audiophile-quality preamplifier, the Eversolo DMP-A8 streamer is designed to enhance all sources of a hi-fi installation. To do so, it features a wide range of connectors, with RCA and XLR inputs for connecting a pre-amplified turntable or a CD player. The AKM DAC can be used for your digital sources thanks to six inputs, including two coaxial, two optical and a USB-B port to use the DMP-A8 as a USB DAC with a computer. Finally, the HDMI ARC port allows you to connect a TV. As for outputs, there are several digital ports to connect an external DAC, as well as RCA and XLR outputs for perfect compatibility with any hi-fi or power amp. The Eversolo DMP-A8 preamplifier and DAC benefits from a wide range of connectors with analog and digital inputs to easily connect all your sources. Eversolo DMP-A8: the streaming kingThe DMP-A6 Master Edition is equipped with balanced analog circuitry from the DAC chip to the stereo XLR and RCA outputs. This limits noise and channel separation provides better signal quality. Compatible with most music streaming services It's not perfect though. The Eversolo is dependent on TuneIn Radio for internet radio and this has limitations, especially when it is called upon to access BBC content. AirPlay can be used to send the BBC Sounds App to the DMP-A6 but there’s no Cast for Android users (although there is aptX Bluetooth as a quasi-acceptable substitute). The absence of the simple but useful Bluetooth remote handsets that the Zidoo players come with is also a slight annoyance. It’s not that the Eversolo can’t be used without it but it reduces the convenience factor slightly. The Bluetooth 5.0 reception of the DMP-A6 uses a Qualcomm QCC5125 chip. This supports the SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX LL, aptX HD and LDAC high-definition transmission codecs, allowing you to enjoy high-quality sound reproduction via Bluetooth. In contrast, Eversolo’s portfolio of products does fit squarely within my realm of interest. There are a couple of compact portable USB DAC/headphone amplifiers, a pair of desktop DACs with integrated headphone outputs, and their latest product which is under review here today – the DMP-A6 streaming DAC. So where do we start? The DMP-A6 has so many features it’s easy to get lost in them, but when setup you’ll find yourself using probably only a fraction of them.

Eversolo presents with its DMP-A6 MASTER EDITION a streamer as powerful as it is intuitive and stylish. It will allow you to stream your music with ease while enjoying excellent sound quality, all controlled via a high-quality LCD screen and an ergonomic interface or from a dedicated mobile application.

DAC/Amp comparison

I'm still copying my files to the 2TB SSD I installed, but I'm a Roon user and have been able to try the unit out via Roon immediately. Fantastic sound straight out of the box and I cant imagine anyone would be disappointed with this. Whilst my Auralic has the upgraded chips you will find in the master addition of this unit, the differences are quite subtle and the sound of the DAC is very similar. Total bargain for the entry price. Eversolo presents with its DMP-A6 a streamer as powerful as it is intuitive and stylish. It will allow you to stream your music with ease while enjoying excellent sound quality, all controlled via a high-quality LCD screen and an ergonomic interface or from a dedicated mobile application. You can rip cd’s (just add comptable cd drive to usb OTG port or use another port with OTG cable), it finds the Album Covers. The DMP-A6 can be controlled from a smartphone or tablet using the free Eversolo Controller mobile app. This will allow you to simply access your music while enjoying a remote interface for easy use from your sofa. Specifications Model Characteristics: Frequency response: 20Hz~20KHz (±0. 2dB), Dynamic range: > 124dB, SNR: >124dB, THD+N: <0.00011%(-119dB)@A-WT, Crosstalk: >-124dB

The Eversolo DMP-A6 is a network audio streamer. We’ll cover the spec at length (and I’ll tell you now, it does a fair bit) but the most important thing to convey about the DMP-A6 is not what it is but what it isn’t. Eversolo is not a completely new company. It is a wing of Zidoo which has supplied a wide ranging set of components to us over the years. All of those devices; even the very audio orientated Neo S and Neo Alpha players, have video functionality built into their hardware. This is slightly niche but potentially very handy; if you want one box to handle everything, those two devices are extremely capable. It has the control and agility to deliver... exactly the right level of intensity...the DMP-A6 would be comfortable fronting a very capable digital-only system if you need it too. The transport functionality is arguably even more impressive. The unit itself is a fantastic thing, full of functionality and well laid out and designed. I have bought this and am setting it up for a friend as he's not too technical, but this does give me the perspective of comparing it with my own unit which is Auralic Altair G1, which uses the same DAC chips (but was more than double the price).

Accessories and unboxing

Darko.Audio contributor John Grandberg might be one of those reviewers. His written coverage of the DMP-A6 will land after my video. Think of mine as a first opinion and his as a second. Perhaps John will like the design of the DMP-A6’s VU meters more than I do. With no headphone output on board, his review will take in the Eversolo’s performance as a streaming DAC (and maybe as a streaming transport) from the perspective of a headphone listener. I will cover the Eversolo as a streaming DAC, with side-by-side comparisons to the FiiO R7 and Bluesound Node X conducted strictly in the loudspeaker domain. The DMP-A6 Master Edition is equipped with balanced analog circuitry from the DAC chip to the stereo XLR and RCA outputs. This limits noise and channel separation provides better signal quality. USB-C Audio Input: USB Audio Compatibility: Windows (7, 10), Mac, Android, IOS,Support up to stereo DSD512, PCM 768KHz 32Bit, MQA The audio decoding of the DMP-A6 Master Edition is entrusted to two ESS ES9038 Q2M DAC chips, a high-performance model widely recognized by audiophiles. It also supports high-resolution audio streams up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD512, as well as decoding of MQA files. The sound quality of the Dac is very good, true balanced. Sure there are better Dacs but are there better balanced Dac streamers at the same price?
