About this deal

A sparkling & smooth white Arabian Musk fragrance with several subtle nuances for the trained nose to discover...or the untrained nose to save into their olfactory memory.

Usually, I tend to appreciate fragrances containing oud less on the opening stage and more on the base and dry-down time frame. This woody fresh scent from Lattafa contains oud and pleases me as much on the opening as on the dry down. Blue Oud is also far from being a linear fragrance; that's a plus for this unusual woody and semi-fresh perfume. As far as presentation its awesome, the type of blue coloring of the bottle is a standout and not the run of the mill blue color you find on so many perfume bottles and goes well with the dark grey emblem and cap. The cap isn't metal but its a really sturdy plastic, you won't break this one easily trust me. Opulent Musk EDP is created to leave a lasting impression. It combines notes of musk, adding a deep and sensual character to the fragrance. This Eau de Perfume is perfect for both daily use and special occasions when you want to feel extra alluring. This is definitely a woody, fresh aquatic, with a hint of fruits. I feel like,if you like aftershave smells/shaving cream, you'd really enjoy this one. This would be amazinggg in summer/spring. The smell that whaffs in the air is just wonderful. In my opinion, this would definitely suit a man better than a woman. Over all I give this fragrance a ten/ten. It's really lovley, well blended, etc. It's a more wearable middle eastern Fragrance. I love, love, loooove this stuff. If you are expecting this fragrance to be a very complex array of many notes & many different accords...you must remind yourself that this is Pure Musk. As this perfume was meant for my husband, we tried on his skin as well. I think it's not a man's scent.

And so on second spraying - 1 cautious spray - in the evening, and the perfume is no longer screechy. I cam smell the white florals. I woke this morning, and the white florals had settled, and I could smell a lovely almost soft vanilla, and a lovely white musk. I have doused myself in it following a shower, and 1 hour later it is starting to soften.Opens up with this gorgeous dark juicy wine-like scent that settles into an ensemble of oud (that's not overly rubbery or skanky), sweet juicy resins and ambers, with a bit of a sugary feel. It's very wearable and very unisex, but I (32M) wear it a lot, and even got my similar aged male friends onto bottles of their own as they also agreed how lovely it is. Also as it's so beautifully cheap I often just wear it in the evenings at home and to bed as it's so lovely. I wear this morning, night, right after shower, and when I am going to work. I mean I am really obsessed.

Note: If you think that all Lattafas are trying to dupe another fragrance, in my opinion, this scent is quite unique and does not intend to clone anything.

It indeed is a pure Arabian musk...with a sparkling & anamalic opening...morphing into a delicate yet very tenacious powdery Egyptian cotton or linen. The sillage is also remarkable. What I smell for hours is sweet smoky cinnamon with a hint of oud and amber. Sweet OUD & (SANDAL)WOOD-PATCHOULI with amazing drydown. Opens with a floral-citrus burst with patchouli, saffron & oud touches, that deepens into a caramel & amber-oud heart, all resting on a musky amber-wood base with vanilla & patchouli touches. Overall, I get a sweet oud with faint patchouli touches in the opening with a creamy sweet oud heart on a spicy-sweet & creamy (sandal)wood-patchouli base that's to die for. The drydown reminds me of other sandalwood-patchouli drydowns, although sandalwood isn't specifically listed in the notes. Fantastic performance, that might be difficult to wear in the summer heat. I am an admirer of Arabian Musks & Egyptian Musks ....and also an admirer of the Lattafa brand of fragrances. The scent smells rich, and I could imagine it costing 10 times as much in a different bottle. The oud accord (at this price, natural oud oil is impossible) is absolutely excellent and leaves Ombre Nomade and Halfeti in the dust. There is a prominent smokey rose, jammy dried fruits and smokey woods in the base. I don't smell large doses of synthwoods that are obvious in its competitors, and I appreciate this delicate touch.

The notes are perfect in my opinion, musk in all the notes, the top being amber, the middle having rose and sugar, giving a perfect balance of sweet and clean. The rose I will say you won’t smell it at all, it just blends together with the musk, the vanilla and the woody notes so perfectly well. Versatility: 8.0 (An "all-around" versatile unisex fresh woody fragrance; That's a strange comment for an oud perfume, but Blue Oud is one of the most wearable oud fragrances I have ever tried) After like 3 hours it's more quite/calm, not so heavy, oudy with less smoke on a vanilla base with musky hints.Presentation: 8.0 (no apparent faults, elegant flask in a glass strong "azure" colour and a good metal cap. I just think it is a bit strange for the cap to have the word "opulent" written in a similar way as in Lattafa Opulent Oud. Is this a new "Opulent" family of perfumes by Lattafa? I guess it is!)
