About this deal

Today, we are writing our Reolink RLC-820A 4K PoE Camera Review. It will discuss every detail about the 4K PoE camera from Reolink, like its features, design, functions, etc. Or if you want to make Reolink NVR work with the camera, its connection diagram will be like below:

If the phone doesn't respond, please tap Input UID/IP and then manually type in the UID (16-digit characters under the QR code of the camera). Then tap Next. Step 1. Use the mounting hole template to drill mounting holes on the ceiling, and plant the rubber anchoring into the mounting holes. Remember, your router should be a PoE-enabled type with Ethernet ports to use with the camera. If your current router is not PoE-enabled, you do not have to worry about it. To set up the camera, you need to connect the camera to a PoE switch/injector for network connection. After that, you may finish the initial setup via both Reolink App and the Client. It’s 123w total, capable of up to 30w per port, so should be more than adequate to power these. Set Up:This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. All these additional elements have made the RLC-520A a bit taller than the RLC-520, but, at its 4.13 x 3.74 inches (10.5 x 9.5 cm), it won’t really matter that much, especially since it will most likely end up being mounted outdoors. I am not entirely sure whether the extra-ruggedness was truly needed, but it’s definitely a welcomed addition. The IP66 rating is still there, so the camera will survive in case it’s targeted by powerful jets of water (powerful storms) and it’s also dust-proof. I doubt that you can put the RLC-520A on a pole, so it’s far more protected against lightning strikes than other devices, but I would still take all the necessary precautions to make sure your camera will survive a lightning storm (add some surge protectors). I don’t want to get too much into the recording aspect or stream quality settings as I will cover those in a future post. I will be looking to manage these under some other software, but I did want to get these into Home-Assistant. There are several ways of doing this, with snippets of code and integrations. some are more difficult than others. Fortunately for us, someone has already written a very nice integration for us which takes away all the pain! Human/Vehicle Detection: This IP camera is equipped with on-device detection technology to identify human and vehicles from other objects. With its accurate detection, you can keep a sharper eye on the true threats and release your mind from the unnecessary alerts. I was using it on QVR Pro and wanted audio as well. but until they add this model to the compatibility list you wont see all the benefits.

At present, you can save clips to a micro SD card (up to 256GB) or FTP server. Or connect this camera to Reolink NVR to have 24/7continuous recordings. For those not aware yet, the 833A is a direct upgrade of the 822A, the only difference is that it's in a different shell and adds a spotlight and 2-way audio.

Multiple Recording Options: The PoE cam supports to record 24/7 continuously when movement is detected or during scheduled time. Videos can be saved in the microSD card (up to 256GB, NOT included), Reolink NVR or FTP server. Drill holes on the ceiling according to the mounting hole template and screw the mounting plate firmly. In the Reolink App it does not matter what mode I run it in on, it show perfect footage with audio. PoE means Power over Ethernet, allowing the power supply via network cable. So, connect it to the provided network cable before linking it to your router. Its motion detection feature was accurate and did not fail too. We tested this over a week, and it did not send any unnecessary notifications.

Step 4. Once the camera is installed, you can adjust the angle up and down 70 degrees or 360 degrees horizontally. Do not point the camera toward a glass window. Or, it may result in poor image performance due to the window glare from infrared LEDs, ambient lights or status lights. Two other things mitigate against getting a good DORI (Detect, Observe, Recognise, Identify) result, if the camera's purpose is other than recording an overview scene - True, you get what you pay for, Reolink was the first CCTV camera I used, they were cheap and the footage was acceptable. on Hikvision cameras you can adjust the iris (aperture) just like on a SLR camera. so lower the shutter speed will allow ambient light for better night time footage.https://store.reolink.com/accessories/ For more information, you may refer to the Wiring Standard of Ethernet Cable x Hikvision DS-2CD2347G1-LU/GREY 2.8mm 30m visible light - low light camera with built in mic - ColorVu The RLC-820A has 18 powerful infrared LEDs that emit invisible lights with a brightness level of up to 30m. These work with the advanced 3D-DNR technology that reduces noise for sharper, clearer, and smoother night performance. Stunning Time-Lapse Videos The 810A is smaller than I expected, at least judging by the photos and marketing materials you see online, it’s decent in weight, and again feels pretty robust. Reolink RLC-810A Reolink RLC-810A Reolink products have always been famous for exceptional picture & video quality, and the company did not fail with the RLC-820A. It records high-definition footage and captures the tiniest details day and night. Reolink RLC-820A 4K PoE Camera Review Summary
