The Sanivite can also accept gray water from a washing machine through an indirect connection such as a laundry sink. I had to install one in a small restaurant for a sink at the front of the counter. Works like a treat, very quiet. The pump was reasonably priced and installation instructions were clear and install was completed problem free. The Sanivite drain pump is used to pump gray water away from a variety of fixtures in commercial and residential applications. The system is able to discharge the waste up to 16 feet vertical and/or 150 feet horizontal. This model is small enough to fit inside a kitchen cabinet and was designed to sustain the toughest applications as it is capable of handling hot water and grease.

Needed to pump not just sink waste but a dishwasher which was adjacent to the sink.. I had a rise of approximately 2.7meters then a gravity fall for approximately 7meters.. after putting in minimal bends and appropriate ridding points I turned on the sanivite, let the bowl of the sink fill up, let the plug out and away the water went, perfectly and to be fair surprisingly quietly... well chuffed, highly recommend This unit has been designed with a vent connection on the lid. All plumbing codes require connection to a vent system. Please note that the vent system should be a two-way air vent. The use of mechanical vents, air admittance valves or similar devices are not permitted as these are considered one-way air vent systems. I have installed this for about a month now and it was easy to plumb in and is very quiet and appears to be well made.

A good product from Saniflo. Not quite as durable as the commercial version but great for domestic use or as a temporary installation. The unit pumps the effluent upward to 16 feet and/or 150 feet horizontally (with gravity fall). Once the water is discharged and the water level in the container goes down, the micro switch deactivates the unit until water enters the unit again. A normal operating cycle for the Sanivite can be as short as 2 - 10 seconds depending upon the discharge pipe run configuration; power consumption is therefore minimal.

It is also highly recommended for the drain pump to be connected to a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) circuit. It is usually concealed in a kitchen unit but can also be installed behind a removable panel, if desired.
