About this deal

Eartips of the different makes are rather complementary and listeners have to acquire a box full of different types before “tip rolling” to find the best sound appeal for their individual ear canal geometry. So third-party eartips companies must be the best of friends. Accidents, abuse, misuse, improper installation, problems with electrical power, acts of third parties. Munich, Germany. Got into head-fi in mid-2019 under the username kmmbd, and has been reviewing audio gears sporadically on his personal Medium blog since 2018. His introduction to portable audio was through a Walkman cassette-player in his pre-teens, and music has been his getaway ever since. He harbors a minor OCD regarding the tagging and organization of his music library (which is all digital on a local NAS). Also, spends too much time custom-theming his desktop Music Player for no apparent reason. In real life, he’s a Bangladeshi living in Munich and currently doing his MS in Computer Science, majoring in Computational Biology. He’s a penchant for the academia and research, though life is strange so he’s still unsure how things will turn out in the long run. Eartips do make a difference in our listening experience. They may not always have an influence on sound, but they do change the way you wear your earphones and this makes all the difference between listening to music while being comfortable and doing so while swearing against the pain in your ears. The SpinFit line-up is quite complete and gives you a lot of choice to get the eartips that better suit your needs, from very deep insertion to a very shallow one. All of them offer a great level of comfort, thanks to the soft silicone and to the incredibly clever design SpinFit came up with. SpinFit eartips are a game changer and can completely change (in a very positive way) the way you experience your favourite earphones. In this round-up, we shall explore how well this mechanism works across a variety of IEMs. Models to be evaluated: Spinfit CP-100, CP-100+, CP-145, CP-145 (medical-grade silicone), CP-240, CP-360, CP-500, and the CP-800. The only two in-production models that I don’t have with me are the CP-155 (I don’t have a large-nozzle IEM at the moment) and the Airpod-specific CP-1025 (I don’t have an Airpod). With that out of the way, let’s head right in.

SpinFit claim their double-flange tip to offer ‘triple-flange’ isolation. However, Etymotic’s triple-flange eartips generally offered superior levels of noise isolation when compared to SpinFit’s model. With that said, the SpinFit double flange tip was far superior in comfort and it was surprisingly unobtrusive in prolonged listening sessions. With the easy 360 o rotation, the SpinFit ear tips were perhaps the easiest silicone eartips to install and remove from any in-ear monitor nozzle.

SpinFit CP100

When I started using in-ear headphones, around a decade ago, one of the things that I didn’t like about the experience was the eartips. They were just too uncomfortable compared to classic earbuds with foams. Sure, they provided better isolation, but having very sensitive skin I often found myself with irritated ears. Then I discovered foam eartips and that changed things completely, as they were much more comfortable, as isolating as the silicone ones and less prone to cause irritation. So I basically stopped using silicone tips – why bother when the foam ones were so much better for me? But one of the realities of life is that things change, sometimes for the worse and (thankfully) sometimes for the better, and man did my perception of silicone tips change when I discovered the SpinFit tips. There are no warranties other than expressly set forth herein. The peculiarity of the CP100 is that they are tall (9.9 mm), but they are actually quite wider at 13.3 mm. This means that they won’t need to go very deep to seal off your ear canal and therefore will also be fine for earphones with short nozzles. Thanks to this good seal, bass is well extended and controlled, while the rest of the range comes out as well balanced and with no particular colouration and the same sensation of good control as in the lower area. As a whole, the sound is mostly unaltered and this also includes the “bad” side of this, as the tips won’t reduce peaks e.g. in the treble area. The wearing experience is very similar to the CP145, but due to the additional stiffness they can feel a bit more fatiguing during long runs. While the dome is made of the same silicone, the different inner bore has a small impact on comfort. The SpinFit CP360 provides a comfortable fit with its high-quality silicone ear tips and perfect seal. The optimal seal brings better bass performance and smooth treble frequencies. The soft and flexible silicone material provides a high level of hygiene and long-lasting comfort. They are made up of medical-grade silicone material. Wide Compatibility:- All SpinFit ear tips are designed with a patented 3D axis structure. This nozzle allows the ear tip to swivel freely in the ear canal while adjusting to the contours of the ear canal. This helps in providing a comfortable snug fit for the users. You must return an item in the same condition as it was received. You must also include, in the same condition as it was received: On the whole, the SpinFit CP100 does improve the bass presentation slightly, so it’s something you should consider if you needed that little more bass extension. SpinFit CP100+ (Preview) Damage due to user negligence, accidents, disassembly, waterlog, misuse, abuse, alterations or vandalism. Let’s look at the different SpinFit models, and compare how they fit on a selection of IEMs. Note that the sizing within each model (Small, Medium, Large) only affects the width of the flange and how that fits your ear, and does not affect the size of the bore or how well they will fit on different IEMs. CP100/CP100+

The SpinFit CP1025 were made to fit the Apple AirPods Pro thanks to an included adapter. The adapter is in fact an add-on that you can ignore completely if you use other earphones, and the CP1025 work just as well. In fact I think SpinFit should market this model not just for AirPods Pro as it – surprisingly – is also the one that I found to work best with other TWS as well, even more than the CP360. Update: SpinFit has actually done so, making the CP1025 available without the adapter and as more general TWS eartips. The CP1025 have an inner diameter of 3.6 mm and an outer diameter of 12 mm, with a height of 6.7 mm. There are four sizes available: L, ML, M and S. The Spinfit CP-100 is probably the most popular Spinfit eartips around. They are also the most widely available one. The original CP-100 model had a fairly stiff, color-coded stem (with color changing upon size) and the outer material was also fairly stiff. This model suited a number of IEMs especially those with a shallow nozzle (e.g. Dunu Luna, pictured below). The CP-100 was pretty much a utilitarian eartip, as in it would suit most models without affecting the FR too much or causing discomfort. I personally found the surface of the tip to be somewhat itchy after long-term use, and the stiffer outer layer didn’t have the best grip with the inner-ear wall. SpinFit eartips have been one of our favorites here since first trying out a pair that was bundled with the DUNU Luna. The main appeal is that they have the comfortability of silicone tips, but provide a better seal than the average silicone tip due to their namesake patented swivel technology. Basically, there is a joint near the top of the eartip (the part inserted into your ear) which enables it to bend and conform more completely to the shape of your inner ear. The SpinFit CP800 were the only ones I could not try due to not having compatible earphones: they are made for super-thin nozzles like those used by Shure, Westone and Etymotic. At just 2 mm wide, the inner bore is too narrow to house earphones with 4 mm nozzles (believe me, I tried). I will update this review as soon as I lay my hands on compatible earphones, but I expect them to behave exactly like all other eartips in this list. SpinFit CP1025 With the CP100, the Aurvana Trio’s mid-treble sounds a little harsher, while the midrange is slightly less articulated. I attribute it to a more filling bass and harmonics which somehow influenced the texture of the instruments, making them less clean.

The SpinFit CP100 are the basic model, which by shape and feel most closely resemble “standard” eartips. They are conical (a wide ogive, to be exact) and offer a diameter of 4 mm which fits most earphones (including the Campfire Audio Vega 2020 and Dorado 2020, the Thieaudio Legacy 4, the Tin HiFi T2), but which is also a bit tight for earphones with larger nozzles. Still, they’re the ones that will probably fit the larger number of earphones, as they do just fine even with those that have a smaller nozzle like the Legacy 4. They come in 5 different sizes: SS (XS would have probably been better), S, M, L and XL. It’s not only a matter of comfort: the CP145 prove to be great at passive isolation as well. As they seal off the ear canal quite well, the side effect is also that there is an almost-perfect level of isolation. Although the overall isolation is of course dependent on the earphones as well, these eartips make a real difference and shut most of the noise out. SpinFit CP155 They are equivalent to the CP100 in every respect, except for sound: the new material makes treble a bit stronger overall. SpinFit CP145CP360 and CP1025 are designed for TWS earphones. CP360 is designed to provide a deeper fit, while CP1025 is more shallow. While both will fit on most TWS earphones, some charging cases may not be compatible with the CP360. CP1025 is also available with adapters for Apple AirPods Pro and Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro. W1 If it is plastic sealed when you get it, it should remain plastic sealed. Some types of goods such as CIEMs and custom cables cannot be returned. Eartips are a very personal thing. There is no good or bad in most cases, there is good fit and lesser fit, which depends on both the devices they are mounted on and the listeners’ ear canals. These variables create a large number of possibilities and uncertainties so that no eartip is fitting universally. These variables are:
