About this deal

Solid tuning with close to top-tier resolution. An inoffensive all-rounder that lives up to its reputation. As far as to even sound across the spectrum, the 440s are a solid option at this price point and definitely worth a look. Final Word

Great, I’m not telling you to. My work on measurements is separate from my reviewing work. It takes me 5 minutes to measure a headphone, you honestly think I don’t have time to listen to it as well? ↓↓↓ READ THIS: Notes & Disclaimers ↓↓↓The sound on the SRH-440 is very balanced and neutral if a little boring. It feels almost cold. However one should remember here that the SRH-440 is designed primarily as a monitor headphone and these are traits that are preferred in music production with no one sound spectrum dominating the other. The positions are not set in stone. I’m only human; I may miss out on certain details or traits that may only be apparent with repeated listening. Expect changes. The bass has a bit more extension than a 7506 and hits a bit harder but still isn’t bass- heavy. It’s also not bass-light. It kind of sits in the middle. A decent Utopia alternative for thinner wallets. Slightly warmer sound may be more pleasant for some. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items.

As a gaming headphone, possibly the best technically though with the usual pitfalls of the Audeze house sound. The 440 can be plugged into anything, but if you’re buying these you’ll most likely be using some sort of interface like the Scarlett 2i2 which I highly recommend as a perfect entry-level solution. Who do these headphones benefit? The headband is quite "cushy" and forms rather nicely to the head. But sometims, when wearing them for a long time, the top of my head begins to get sore where it rests upon my head.

Technology and specifications of the Shure SRH440A

Treble is certainly less bright than a 7506 and does tend to work better over longer listening sessions. It’s not a perfect headphone by any means, but let’s take a look at why it’s still relevant, what its downsides are, and if you should ultimately consider purchasing one for your own projects. Build The Shure SRH440 Professional Studio Headphones have been designed to reproduce high quality, accurate audio across a wide range while providing comfort for extended use.
