Multiple seasons are expected for the series, with the production of 156 episodes (specials counting as 2 episodes) lasting from 2021 to 2024. The series is created by Silvergate Media, with Mainframe Studios (responsible for the Octonauts Netflix specials and Season 5) continuing to be involved in the production of new content for the franchise. Like the Octonauts Netflix specials, Above & Beyond is exclusive to the streaming platform. However, Silvergate is pushing for the series to air on TV again in the future. These are the characters that were added to the Octonauts crew in the series Above & Beyond. They are known as Octo-Agents, friends of the Octonauts who are stationed all over the world. They are experts and adventurers that assist the Octonauts on their new land missions. Paani is the only one so far that made their debut in Above & Beyond; all the others debuted in the original series. All Octonauts and Octo-Agents are able to sound the Octo-Alert via new pieces of equipment called Octo-Watches (except Barnacles, who still has his Octo-Compass, and Tunip).

A second season was released May 2, 2022 on Netflix. The special double episode in this season is "The Octonauts and the Rainforest Rescue", which will focus on a rescuing a baby eaglet. [3] Fisher Price will also release an Above & Beyond toy line to sell alongside the existing main series toys. [6] These are the new vehicles that appear in Above & Beyond, in addition to the vehicles from the original series. These new vehicles specialize in terrestrial missions, and are thus referred to as "Terra-GUPs" (abbreviated as "TG"). All vehicles are equipped with an Octo-Alert. The series also drops the original show's format of having just Barnacles, Kwazii and Peso go out on missions. Instead, the series now has a group of usually 2-3 of the Octonauts go out to help whichever Octo-Agent sounded the Octo Alert. Some episodes, however, can have almost entire crew go out on one mission, though this occurrence is rare. Due to this, many episodes completely exclude the presence of certain Octonauts, and in the first season it was common for Captain Barnacles and Kwazii in particular to barely attend missions at all. Octonauts: Above & Beyond is a children's television series that is the successor and spin-off of Octonauts. The son of a beaver family who taught Tweak everything she knew as an engineer during her youth. He later joined as Tweak's protege and spent much of his time traveling the world to study engineering in nature. Barnacles is the brave polar bear captain of the Octonauts. He knows how to drive any vehicle and is strong enough to lift a giant clam. The show airs on television on CBeebies, respectively like the original series. Other creatures that were introduced in the original series also make appearances in the series, with some even getting their own episodes. So far the only ones to do so, are The Invasive Species (With the exception of the Burmese Python) Spiny Sue the catfish, and Ronnie, Donnie and Lonnie the Monitor Lizards, from The Great Swamp Search, who all appear in The Monitor Lizards, and Phil the baby flamingo in The Nine Banded Armadillo.
This is the first Terra-Gup that has a sole purpose of flying, though the Terra-Gup 1 can sort of fly (glide), the TG-6 can fly efficiently for longer distances. It also features a rescue/grappler line, which lowers from the front-most tip of the Terra-Gup.

The Terra-Gup 8 is a large land-based Gup introduced in Octonauts: Above & Beyond Season 3. It made it's debut on August 10th in Korea and on October 16th on CBeebies (BBC iPlayer). It currently only features in 1 episode (special), The Kilimanjaro Climb. An octopus who speaks in a posh accent. Inkling brought the Octonauts together, to study the oceans and have adventures.
