About this deal

With sharp 4K resolution improved by Wide Colour Gamut, which gives you more colours for a more lifelike picture, our collection of Premium 4K TVs gives you the ideal cinematic experience. This collection delivers you the greatest immersive viewing experience possible, flawlessly blending Dolby Audio Processing, subwoofer, and our most potent integrated speakers created by Onkyo into a gorgeous centre piece for your living room. I’ve seen some contradictory specifications for this TV out there at different retailers, but be assured that we’ve got the correct details, direct from Toshiba, all in this review. Design

One notable feature is Dolby Vision – a dynamic HDR format supported by Netflix and often found on 4K Blu-rays, which uses additional metadata to tweak your TV’s brightness and colour output. You won’t be getting a high-end HDR experience with the 43UF3D’s panel and lighting array, but Dolby Vision support will improve the tone mapping of compatible content to get a little closer to the filmmaker’s intent. Sound Quality The 50UK3163DB is impressively easy to use. Its onscreen interface is compact and logical, and does a better job of combining access to content sources and the TV’s set up options than many supposedly much more sophisticated systems.

Dramatic contrast

Used to determine a user's inclusion in an experiment and the expiry of experiments a user has been included in. For audio devices you should use the Audio Link option via the following menu options on the TV: System > Sound Menu. For remote controllers, use the following: System > Options > More > Smart Remote. Select the menu option on your remote, and press ‘OK’ to open the related menu. Toshiba hasn’t gone for the full HDR sweep by also including support for the HDR10+ system that Samsung TVs favour over Dolby Vision. Providing Dolby Vision on top of the more routine HDR10 and HLG HDR formats is still a compelling proposition, though. The Toshiba UF3D has a built-in speaker system that delivers clear and crisp sound. The speakers are located at the bottom of the television, which ensures that the sound is directed toward the viewer. However, for those who want an even more immersive audio experience, the television has a digital optical output that can connect to a soundbar or other external speaker system. Smart Features

The 50UK3163DB’s taste for spectacle is let down somewhat by its colour handling. The screen just doesn’t seem able to support a wide enough colour gamut to ‘keep up’ with its intense brightness, leading to some bright tones looking a bit thin and washed out versus some rivals. Similarly, the picture can clip subtle shading out of bright HDR and even SDR highlights quite noticeably thanks, presumably, to its preference for presenting HDR as brightly as possible rather than tempering it to the screen’s specific brightness capabilities with serious HDR tone mapping.

Get in touch

The 50UK3163DB’s sound, like its pictures, is pretty good for such an affordable TV. Its speakers are powerful and dynamic enough, for instance, to deliver an expansive sound capable of shifting up and down a few gears quite convincingly during the ebb and flow of a powerful action scene. This is a modern set with competitive features for the budget side of the TV market in 2023, more so than the V35 Series at any rate, so if you’re looking for a set you can use to stream all the 4K/HDR content you can imagine without spending an arm and a leg, the C350 Series from Toshiba can get you there. A great example of what we’re talking about can be seen in the sequence in It where Georgie chases his ill-fated boat down a rain-soaked street. On the 50UK3163DB every raindrop splash is accompanied by a marked HDR gleam, while the light reflecting on the windows of the houses and parked cars blares out with all the intensity you’d expect to see if you were there sploshing down the street after poor Georgie. The Toshiba UF3D is a 50-inch Smart Fire TV that combines the latest in television technology with the convenience of streaming services. With its sleek design and numerous features, this television is an excellent option for anyone looking for a top-of-the-line viewing experience. Technology

Immerse yourself in the on-screen action with one of our Toshiba Dolby Vision compatible TVs. The preferred HDR video format of movie makers around the world, Dolby Vision uses Gaming controller: If you plan on using your television for gaming, a gaming controller can provide a more comfortable and enjoyable gaming experience.

The panel is also a VA type rather than an IPS type, which again usually results in better contrast (albeit at the expense of comparatively limited viewing angles). The Toshiba UF3D comes with a remote control that is easy to use and has a streamlined design. It features dedicated buttons for popular streaming services, making it easy to access your favorite content with the touch of a button. The remote control also has a built-in microphone, allowing users to use Alexa’s voice commands without pressing a button. Connectivity Options The Toshiba UF3D has a sleek and modern design that will complement any living space. It has a slim bezel that maximizes the viewing area, while the stand is sturdy and well-balanced. The television can be wall-mounted for an even more streamlined look. Picture Quality The Toshiba UF3D has a variety of connectivity options that make it easy to connect to other devices. It has three HDMI ports, which allow users to connect multiple devices, such as gaming consoles or Blu-ray players. It also has a USB port for connecting external devices.

The Toshiba UF3D does not offer 8K resolution, the latest technology in high-resolution televisions. However, 8K resolution is still in its early stages, and content that supports this resolution is limited. It is expected that 8K content will become more widely available, but for now, the 4K resolution of the Toshiba UF3D provides an excellent viewing experience. HDR Technology This issue can lead to some colours in dark scenes looking a little ‘polluted’ by greyness too – though at least neither the greyness nor any over-aggressive work by the Tru Micro Dimming system results in any significant loss of shadow detail. The television also has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, which makes it easy to access streaming services and other online content. It also has Bluetooth connectivity, which allows users to connect to external speakers or headphones. Compatibility

You work at BID, what a legend.

In fact, the 50UK3163DB HDR image management provides it with so much brightness/light control headroom that it’s able to still make peak highlights of full-screen bright images stand proud of their already punchy surroundings, rather than the brightness just ‘flattening off’ as we might expect with a TV that has less than 500 nits to play with. So, for instance, you become impressively aware of the light gleaming off individual drops of rain during HDR footage of torrential rainfall, or of sunlight catching the corners and curves of car bodywork. Calibration is important for ensuring that the picture and sound settings are optimized for the viewing environment. The Toshiba UF3D has a range of calibration options, including color calibration and gamma calibration. Users can also adjust the white balance and color temperature to ensure the colors are accurate and consistent. Additionally, the television has a built-in calibration tool that can be accessed through the settings menu. Software Updates The Smart Fire TV interface is intuitive and easy to use. It provides access to a variety of apps, including music streaming services and news apps. The television also has a variety of other features that enhance the viewing experience, including a dynamic picture mode that adjusts the picture settings based on the content being viewed. Remote Control The Toshiba UF3D is available in a range of sizes, from 43 to 65 inches, making it suitable for viewing environments. The 50-inch model is popular, providing a large viewing area without being too bulky or expensive. Users can choose the size that best fits their viewing environment and budget. 4K Resolution QLED stands for Quantum Dot Light Emitting Diode and is a display technology that uses quantum dots to create brighter and more vibrant colors. This technology is similar to OLED but is more affordable and provides brighter images. QLED televisions are an excellent option for those who want a high-quality picture without spending much money.
