You’ve heard it once. You’ll hear it again. If you don’t have rosemary on-hand, you need to! It’s one of those all-purpose herbs that you can literally use for any kind of magic. I grow rosemary and make it into smudge bundles to cleanse my space. I also use it in herbal baths, magical meals, and natural hair care. Get you some rosemary, witch! Bonus: it’s super easy to grow! 2. Chamomile When we moved in, there were already a pomegranate and corbezzolo tree. So I hung mini lanterns on them. Sometimes, plants that are believed to be apt for the witch’s garden are toxic to animals and children. These include datura, poppy, belladonna, and Mandrake. Invite magical creatures and allies into your garden by providing them with a welcoming environment. Set up bird feeders, bird baths, and houses to attract feathered friends who bring messages from the spirit realm. Plant flowers that attract butterflies, bees, and other pollinators, as they are vital for the health of your garden and the wider ecosystem. Create a harmonious coexistence with the creatures of nature, recognizing the interconnectedness of all life. Seed blessing is an arcane technique to recharge the dormant seeds and aid their transition to new life. This ritual should be carried out in the dark, preferably at night. Here, you ask for help and guidance from the universal energies for the growth of the seeds. 6. Establish a Communication Ritual

Make your magic garden enchanting by adding winding paths with pebbles, crafting markers with symbols, and painting glow-in-the-dark stones. You can find most of this stuff or create your own. Plastic outdoor trees (sure, they last forever, and I actually do like ‘synthetic botanicals’ in the home, but outside? Where you can grow something real?) However, things change when a picture of Cassie appears online, and rumors about her reputation and profession spread around the community. Do you honestly believe when God created the universe he sat there and thought, “I should give humans a moon to look at, it will be pretty.” That moon is there for a reason, it just so happens that it affects all of nature. To not use a tool that God has given us is just crazy. This is one reason why I can’t fathom the Christian mindset of following blindly. Many people have bay leaves right in their kitchen cabinet and don’t realize how powerful they are. In ancient times, they were used to increase psychic abilities and induce visions. Write a wish on a bay leaf and burn it. Add to spell bags and herbal offerings to Greek and Roman gods. I use it in my cooking often to enhance sauces and meat dishes. If you can grow your own bay tree, even better. The fresher the bay leaves the stronger the effects. 4. Rue

Choosing plants that are bee and butterfly friendly for your witch’s garden

There is something absolutely magical about having your hands in the earth and then watching plants grow and flourish through your labour. While gardening can be a lot of hard manual labour, I’m talking about the bags of compost I have to lug up 3 flights of stairs, they are also immensely useful. A witch’s garden need not only be filled with plants. It can also be filled with art. Meaningful art. The kind of art that you can take away with you to your next home (after all, many witches may be renting, rather than living in some nominal forever home). It’s nice to have statues in your witchy garden. I like statues made from wood, stone or dark unglossy metal. If harvesting in the moonlight doesn’t feel like your jam (or isn’t safe for one reason or another), another thing you can do is to leave your watering can out overnight. Folklore indicates that the moonlight charges the water (especially on the full moon). I always leave my watering can full of water at the end of the day anyways because the chlorine in the tap water will off-gas and the water will come to air temperature by the next day (which plants prefer to icy tap water). Witchy legend has it that nettles won’t sting you if you talk to them nicely (i clearly haven’t mastered this though…they still sting me lol)… 7. Talk to your plant friends Calendula: It signifies hope and optimism. Also, you can place it on the altar along with lavender to protect your rituals from malevolent forces.

Seeing Cassie’s family growing closer than ever will also make you want to get closer to your family by watching family movies this weekend as well. A witch’s garden is a way to connect with nature and the natural world in an increasingly concreted and sterile environment. Gardening lets us feel our connection to the earth and allows us to ground ourselves. Did you know that there are actually scientific studies researching the health benefits of grounding? We should all put our bare feet on the ground a little more regularly. This has to be one of the most magical things ever. Seeing a plant grow from a tiny, dried seed seems miraculous sometimes. Witches Gardens in History Flowers or those herbs specifically valued for their blossoms, like lavender or chamomile, are best planted during the waxing moon. An incomplete herbal of witch's garden plants, their science and folklore, how to grow, how to serve to cure or or curseFind a pretty stone to sit on while you meditate, or create a carpet of soft moss. Use tall screening plants around the area to form an outdoor “nest” of sorts. You can get fancy with water features and stone sculptures, or just let the space be as it is. In my opinion, any garden created by a witch or made with the intention of using the plants for any type of healing or spell work is a witch’s garden, even if it is full of vegetables. Enjoy a cup of hot tea? Flowers are often the main component in herbal teas including chamomile, hibiscus, rose, lavender, calendula, butterfly pea, and jasmine. Try crafting your own loose leaf tea blends using some of your favorite edible flowers. Each flower has its own magical properties, so align your flowers with your intentions and then drink up! 4. Flower Sprays JAKE: I, JAKE the dog, while slow-dancing with my subconscious, with flowers in my underwear, do humbly apologize...

Speaking of the moon, another witchy practice to bring to your garden is to harvest herbs by moonlight. In general, herbs are collected in the morning before the heat of the day but after the morning dew has dried. If, however, you’re looking to add in some extra witchy feels, try harvesting (and preparing) your witch herbs by moonlight.

While it seems simple, just having flowers around is an easy way to incorporate their magic into your craft. In the Spring and Summer, I enjoy keeping a fresh flower bouquet on my altars and on my dining room table. The cheery color of flowers, their scent, and their energy liven up the home and bring smiles to faces. 6. Flower Spells in the Kitchen Research the toxicity of each plant you consider for your witch garden prior to planting. If planting poisonous plants, take appropriate measures to protect kids, pets, and onlookers from your witchy garden. Additionally, if planting both edible witch herbs and poisonous plants, ensure the edibles are clearly separated from the toxic plants and are clearly labeled to avoid any confusion. Disclaimer: I’ve had a hedgehog house for two years, and it’s never had anything live in it – not even a rat. But my friend Cath had a hedgehog give birth and raise little hogs in her little hedgehog house, so it can happen. Even if your wildlife homes don’t bring in lots of residents, they’re still a success because they’re sending a clear symbolic signal to the land that, in your home, nature is welcome. Native plants for native creatures We saw Cassie Nightingale’s life development throughout the six-year film series, including her experiences with love, marriage, and parenthood. She also never ceases charming and enchanting everyone in the neighborhood.
