Now when it comes to a lot of the duaat out there from amongst those who are upon the way of the soofis or ikhwanis, this term “hizbiyyah” or “hizbee” may apply because frankly they only call to their own organisations or groups or other people who hold their twisted views. They call bigotedly towards them and mislead people from the Sunnah. The speeches, all made since the proscribed terror group Hamas invaded Israel on Oct 7, include calls to “destroy” Israelis and to “come and kill” Jewish people. And this is not antisemitic. This is part of our tradition. We simply relay the hadith, and we say that the prophets of Allah told us that when there is a war going on. There's a war going on. They have drones that say to them, 'Oh so and so... There is a Muslim there, press your button and destroy it.' So, we are simply turning it around and telling them what our tradition will be at that time. There are people whose lives were made a misery, their chests constricted and their eyes made to cry, because they were slapped with a fatwa or an accusation. Is this Islam? Is this salafiyyah? In a place where the sunnah is rare and bid’ah is rampant?!

The Sheikh replied: Not everyone’s statements in this issue are accepted, if it comes from someone like Shaikh Ibn Baaz or like Shaikh Ibn ’Uthaimeen then it is possible that his statement is relied on, as for anyone and everyone, then such statements are not taken from them. Other examples seen by this newspaper include a preacher at Cheadle Mosque in Manchester, another charity, praying for the victory of the “mujahideen” in the Palestinian territories, while another sermon hosted by in a council library in Redbridge, north-east London, demanded “victory for the believers”. What? As Sheikh Abdul Muhsin said – This is a clear innovation!But many of these people do not understand even an iota of this because they do not seek beneficial knowledge, rather they have taken it upon themselves to be the gatekeepers of Salafiyyah. Guard strictly (five obligatory) As-Salawaat (the prayers) especially the Salatul Wustaa (the Asr prayer) [2:238] [ٱلۡوُسۡطَىٰ]; meaning: the best, most excellent etc.

But let me tell you what REAL hizbiyyah is. When you only promote your own events or companies (which are personal business ventures) yet refute and criticise everyone else. And these people are a people today who sit by while their missiles and their bombs kill indiscriminately. They are a people who have no shame. They a people who have no limits. They are a people who have no morality and no fear of Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala. They are a people who developed amnesia and forgetfulness, that they themselves, how they were crushed under oppressors in the past. And they are few in number. And they themselves have forgotten where they came from and where they are going.Also in that same lecture, Abu Suhaib quoted the statement of Ibn Mas’ood (radiyallaahu-anhu) as follows: ” Follow and do not innovate, and hold unto the old affair for you have been sufficed.” He (Abu Suhaib) even questioned the proponents of Bidah Hasanah, asking them whether they are stupid or stubborn for holding onto this erroneous view! However, Abu Suhaib refrains from openly denouncing Al-Halabi and his innovations, even though the innovations of Ali Al-Halabi are also from the affairs of misguidance. Imaam Sufyaan Ath-Thawri (rahimahullaah) stated: He added that some of the allegations raised “may constitute a criminal offence and you should report any such concerns to the police”. ‘Victory for the mujahideen’ And due to this, it has been reported concerning the one who wishes to be like the scholar who teaches the people good, that he will get a reward similar to that of (that Scholar). And the one who wishes to be like the rich person who spends his wealth in the path of Allah, (then) he will receive a reward similar to that of (that rich person) in accordance to his intention.

Subhan’Allah! Perhaps I once ate at the same cafe where some innovator also had his dinner, that probably makes me a “hizbee” or “innovator” in their eyes aswell! This is not how the dawah works brothers. The regulator’s guidance says trustees should be alert to the dangers of “extremist ideology” or “extremist views”, and must ensure charities do not “promote unlawful guidance or hatred on the grounds of race, religion or sexual orientation” or “glorify terrorism”.

This is something we hear, usually from the youth but not exclusively so, when talking about others. What is a “Hizbee”? Someone who has partisanship to, or calls towards something other than, the book of Allah, the Sunnah of His messenger (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) and the way of the righteous Salaf. So perhaps he only promotes a certain masjid, a certain speaker or organisation or even a certain group of scholars. When you try to monopolise the dawah of salafiyyah. When you are the only “salafis” and everyone else “has been spoken about” or is a “hizbee”. When everyone else is an “unclear” salafi except those who agree with you.

And be remnded once again what Imaam Al-Barbahaari’s (rahimahullaah) stated: He who loves the deeds of a people is just like one who commits them; so if those (deeds) are good he gets a reward similar to theirs, and if those (deeds) are bad he bears the burden and sin similar to theirs. We seek Allaah’s refuge from that!He added: “We’re large in numbers right now, two billion. If the two billion just marched on Israel it’s all over, if they spat in the direction of Israel, it’s all over.” Imam Abu Ibrahim Hussnayn: "The Yahud [Jews] are a people who they themselves have a history of being persecuted, who they themselves have a history of being oppressed – they are the ones who are doing the oppressing, and what a mighty oppression it is.
