About this deal

I had to make him understand that this was real, that words spoken behind a mask were no less genuine.” When it's been nearly two months since you read The Song Rising and all you can think about is how you really want TBS4 now. *wishes for a time machine* Being in this syndicate will toughen you up, but don't let it turn you to stone. Don't get too big for your boots. And always question what you're told. Remember what it's like to be an outsider, a nobody. Don't look down on the people who end up at the bottom. Give a bit of coin to thew gutterlings. Stay humble. And keep your mind open. You might find it repays you one day." Paige is recovering from the torture she went through while she was kidnapped—and she has a lot of PTSD to get past—but let me tell you Warden looking after her was adorable!🥺

She’s captured and taken to a penal colony in Oxford, which is run by otherworldly ectoplasmic beings known as the Rephaim. A Rephaim warden is assigned to supervise Paige’s imprisonment and while she fears him, she finds that she is also attracted to him. She realizes that the only way to escape her prison will be to learn more about him and what motivates him. It is an overly ambitious infodump. It was difficult to read. I sludged through this as I would a school textbook: it was just not an enjoyable book at all, for me. Action and information takes priority over a a sensible plot and character development. The addition of a massive cast serves to only disguise the fact that the plot is a hot mess. This is not science fiction. It is fantasy, it is paranormal, there is nothing remotely resembling science in here for a book that purportedly takes place in the future. I really, really wanted to like this book. It sounds stupid but I actually feel slightly guilty at how disappointed I was with it and I think the main reason is because the author is a British student of the same age as me and, as soon as I learned that, I really wanted her to succeed. I really wanted Shannon to be the next J.K.Rowling, as some are calling her. I really wanted her debut to take me out of this world and leave me desperate to get my hands on the next installment. However, I just didn't think The Bone Season was anything special or original. In my opinion, it shows definite potential for Shannon's future as a writer but the story is a regurgitated version of one that has been told countless times. Samantha is just fizzling with ideas,” said Pringle in a 2013 interview with the Daily Mail. “The book is an utterly consuming adventure and we are committed to the seven.” this is the fourth book in the series and we knew it was going to ramp things up but my god this is like...wow. there is SO MUCH expansion of the world - it's all about france and paris - but it also explores more of like...the rephs and a little more of jaxon and ALSO PAIGE PROCESSING TRAUMA anyway getting ahead of myself...DON'T INTERUPT ME WHILE I'M TEACHING YOU SOMETHING! BAD PUPIL! ~ every character in The Bone Season ever. YESSS! Finally a title and a blurb, now next a cover! I need it to be 2021 now please and thank you.

Paige is such a determined and resilient character that I always find great pleasure in reading of her exploits but I must say that her development and the ways she has matured and grown are my favorite thing to witness in her. She's a badass but she also knows how to be emotional and care a lot. It's a fine line that I think she manages splendidly. This was what my spirit longed to do, to wander in strange lands. It couldn't stand being trapped in one body all the time. It had wanderlust.”
