About this deal

Complete with 25 Litre of pure first grade MB115 ion exchange resin producing drinking water quality filtered water. Manufactured under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification.

This water system has a bypass valve that diverts flow away from the filters. This helps in restricting flow to the resin filter bed when deionized water is not needed. The unit has a standard adapter that can be connected to the same size hose. This cookie, set by YouTube, registers a unique ID to store data on what videos from YouTube the user has seen. I love this filter and it really does work as advertised. I have been using it for over a year now. I would definitely advise anyone who gets one to also invest in a low cost TDM meter and regularly test the PPM of the produced water. Because in my experience the filter media lasts for a good while but it goes from 0ppm to 200ppm in a very short space of time indeed and the first time you will realise the media needs changing is that your car is covered in horrible water marks that are a real pain to get off. (RG Comment: users will note light spotting appearing in a few rinses before this collapse of performance)

The media we use is Purolite MB400. Purolite is a market leader in filter media technology and this is the highest quality product available for this application. Minerals, particularly calcium and magnesium, are what constitute "hard water". Hard water is responsible for water spots, poor-lathering shampoo, and that green ring around your bathtub. The calcium and magnesium actually harden inside pipes (called "scale") and on other surfaces, including your vehicle. When you rinse with hard water, you could be dousing your vehicle with hard mineral deposits. The only way to prevent hard water deposits is with a water softener. This unit removes all spot-causing contaminants in your water, which results in pure water that doesn’t leave any spots even on dark vehicles or surfaces. You can simply rinse, and then let your car air dry. Their lifespan is in the neighbourhood of 450 to 700-litres, depending on how poor the water quality in your local mains might be. But if you’re sparing with its usage, as how we detailed it earlier, and use it as a finishing touch, then it could last for quite a while. Being efficient about water usage will prolong the number of individual washes, and keep the costs down until the filters need changing. Final Thoughts

If the top is tight, smear a thin film of oil (olive, sunflower) around it to make it easier next time. In the deionization process, regular water is passed through a series of resin beds. The resins can be cation (carries positive charge) or anion (carries negative charge). The solid particle being minerals tends to get attracted toward the charged resins and gets trapped, while pure water flows away. Various types of deionization processes are offered by water systems. Water spots are the little circular dots that can be left on your car after you leave water droplets to dry on it. They can ruin the appearance of your vehicle’s paintwork and can eventually cause permanent damage.Type of deionization: The ion exchange process in a deionized water system is initiated by using different types of resins. The ratio of the cation resins and anion resins determines whether the process is a weak base, strong base, or a medium bed deionization process. Ion exchange resin is extremely effective at trapping contaminants like magnesium and calcium carbonate, which are primarily responsible for water spot formation.
