About this deal

Fender doesn’t include a legend, for whatever reason. After some digging, this is what I could find regarding the color coding: Let’s be honest, whilst we love strings, changing them isn’t our favourite job in the world so for those players, coated strings are a really good option. Their extended life means you won’t need to change them quite so often. There’s no right or wrong answer to this question – it’s entirely up to personal preference. If you’re happy with the way your guitar looks, then there’s no need to change it. However, if you’re looking for a way to express your personality and style, then changing the color of your guitar is a great option. There are a few different ways to change the color of your guitar, including painting, staining, or using a decal. Whichever method you choose, make sure you take the time to prep the surface properly so that the new color will adhere properly and last for a long time. If not using color codes on the ball end of the strings, brands like Elixir put little tags on each string that tells you all the info you need, without having to find the code of each color. D’Addario and other brands use banding to indicate certain gauges or specialization of strings for all instruments, not just guitar.

Once the string comes out of the envelope, it’s likely going straight onto the guitar, and you won’t need to know which string is which. D’Addario String Color Code D’Addario String color code Fender Strings are probably the second most common string brand that color codes the ball ends of their strings. There are a few brands that make guitar strings with coloured ends, but the most popular seem to be D’Addario and Ernie Ball. Both of these companies offer a variety of different colours to choose from, so you can find the perfect match for your guitar. Many players prefer to have coloured strings because it makes it easier to see which one is which when you’re changing them out. Why Are My Guitar Strings Turning Bronze? The E note of the open 1st (top E) string is found in 4 other places on some electric guitars – and 5 other places on 24 fret guitars! Can you find them all? (Without looking at the guitar notes diagram!)Elixir does put a small paper tag on each string to help you identify the strings. These are easily removed before putting the string on the instrument. As always, D’Addario are never far behind and always pushing the boundaries of string technology. Over the years they’ve continued to innovate and refine their coated string offerings and most recently they’ve released their XT range (available for electric, acoustic, bass, classical, mandolin and banjo). Most recently this year they also released their XS coated string range (currently only available for acoustic guitar).

You’d certainly be forgiven for thinking that by slapping a coating on the outer surface of a string, they’d all pretty much be the same as one another, right!?Guitar Scales (Contains a large amount of guitar scales that you can use in improvisation and songwriting). For obvious reasons, it is essential for guitar students to start learning how to play the guitar in the original intended standard tuning of EADGBE. That’s fine, but we think that a good knowledge of the fretboard is helpful: not only with your guitar playing, but also with your enjoyment and understanding of music.

These colors are famously seen on their guitars, but now also on the ball ends of your strings (that you’ll never look at once you put the strings on). Of course, each manufacturer will argue that their way is the best. For instance, the brands that coat the wire first before winding say that this helps to maintain a more natural feel and Elixir say that their coating prevents the little ridges between the windings from getting clogged up. We start with D’Addario because they are probably one of the most recognized and played brands of strings out there. Fender does a nice little job of color coding the string as each color is one of their standard Fender colors like Sea Foam Green or Lake Placid Blue.As an aside, if you’re looking for colored guitar strings, those aren’t quite the same as guitar strings with a color code.
