About this deal

So if you’re looking to buy a wrap for a friend or loved one with a newborn, who doesn’t have a local babywearing educator tohelp them, this is a great wrap to go for.

The safety advice included is sensible, thorough and accessible. It has handy hints for getting a better fit if you are petite or plus size. It focuses throughout on how to tie the wrap tightly, so baby is well supported and their airways are protected. The Coracor Baby Wrap is brilliant if you’re after something with a pretty pattern (and the same wrapping qualities as the Izmi Wrap). The Hana Baby Organic Wrap and Boba Wrap can work well, too. It can also be worn as two entirely separate carriers. Genius. It’s easier to get on and off than you might imagine, although a little practice and guidance may beneeded. Perfect to use from birth (6lbs/2.5kg), super comfy and dreamily soft, these elasticated baby wraps are one-size-fits-all and perfect for both mums and dads. That’s 3 layers already! Always bear this in mind when dressing yourself and your baby. Our recommendations are:One crucial point to remember is that you should never let your baby fall asleep in this position. Their airways could be compromised, so it's essential to reposition them upright in the sling after feeding, no matter how tempting it is to leave them snoozing. Realistically, you may find this is easier to do when your baby is a month or two old, when the two of you have established breastfeeding. Tightening your carrier (usually) or loosening it (sometimes) just a few centimetres here and there can make a vast difference. As can positioning the waistband higher up on your body. The clue is in the name: it’s a WAISTband, not a hip belt. As an alternative to a single twin carrier, some twin parents do wear two Ergobaby carriers, two Tulas, two Manducas and so on. If you’ve already got a couple to hand then give it a whirl! It will likely feel very cumbersome with four padded shoulder straps and two passed waistbands, but it’s not impossible. Clotilde Kingsley says: My little one loves being in a sling especially when feeling unwell or teething. It allows me to get lots done around the house with baby settled in the sling. This sling has a lovely stretch, which makes it easy to wrap without too much laxity, I didn't need to tighten or rewrap it whilst walking outside with it. With other slings I have found that with the weight of baby it can start pulling but he had a lovely position throughout our walk. Would you recommend this product to other parents?

Yes - it's great quality and the price is excellent. A lot of wraps cost a lot more and you wonder why, when they're all a similar strip of fabric, but I like the brand and the quality feels excellent. I'm confident this will last for several months until my little one grows too big. What changes would you make to this product? TOP TIP: Most baby wraps have an upper weight limit of around 10-12kg (22-28lbs). But once your baby is 4 – 5 months old, most families will find a more structured baby carrier much more supportive, especially for longer walks. Izmi Baby Wrap comes top of our tried-and-test list. These wraps are high quality, 2-way stretchy wraps: soft, very easy and forgiving to use, but also very strong, slightly wider than most, and very supportive. Sam Kennedy says: As a mum we have so much to do, especially if you have more than one child! Wearing my baby in this enables me to chop vege, hoover and dust all whilst the baby is either happy and watching everything or whilst fast asleep. I've even been able to breastfeed whilst walking the dog and no one noticed! An absolute must have for any mum. I love babywearing for the bond it gives me with my baby.Your baby should be held high and snug against your chest, close enough to kiss the top of their head; and with the carrier tightened to prevent them flopping or slumping away from your body. Yes, definitely, whether they're new to babywearing or are experienced. It's a soft material that I'm happy to wear throughout the day - I have another carrier that I can get a bit hot wearing, but this was comfy. It's easy to adjust and put on. There are good instructions included in the box, with easy-to-understand diagrams, although I still like to watch a YouTube video to remind myself how to set a wrap up safely and properly. months: Parent-facing front carry or side/hip carry (your baby can stabilise their head unaided as you move around. Your carrier should support their spine at least to the top of their shoulders) Paula McGir says: I would recommend this product because it is suitable from 5lbs upwards. As a foster carer to babies to do have a lot of premature and tiny babies so this is perfect for me. Its very soft material and once I felt safe enough to take my hands away it was very supportive of baby. (more than I thought it would be). I was a little apprehensive at first as it is so long and looked very complicated to do but the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Easy to fold and store away. Here’s a real-life demonstration with 8-week-old Jules, in our fab Izmi Baby Wrap. He’s getting quite sleepy, probably ready for a bit of a feed. In this video, Mel is going to go ahead and show you one option of how you can feed in a stretchy wrap.

Carys Lewis says: I think the Izmi Wrap would really benefit Mums of newborns to have the most as it allows the closeness which newborns thrive on. I did not use it for breastfeeding as my baby was a bit too big to get the positioning right but I could see it would be big benefit to use for younger and smaller babies. There is a limited timeframe on how long the wrap can be used for however which might not make it suitable for all if budgets were tight. Slings are often are stress-tested using weights well above the weight of a baby you’d actually carry in them. Once deemed safe for a certain weight, many brands will often then advertise their stretchy wraps as suitable for very large/heavy babies. Larger, in factthan will realistically be supportive and comfy for you both for long periods. The Twingaroo is closer in design to the TwinGo but can’t be easily worn as 2 separate carriers without purchasing an additional strap conversion kit, so offers less flexibility than the TwinGo & isn’t ideal for babies under around 5-6 months. USING SEPARATE CARRIERS FOR YOUR TWINSIt will depend a lot on your anatomy and how you fit together. So depending on the length of your torso, the size of your breasts, and the position of your nipples, all sorts of things will vary. For a double hippy carry, you could also try using two MiniMonkey Mini Slings or Izmi baby Carriers, as these can also be used separately and for a tandem carry (see below).
