About this deal

Jesus Loves You by Christine Topjian is a religious children’s book. It follows an unnamed male character from when they are a child until they are an adult. Through pictures and words, this book aims to teach children that no matter what they do, Jesus always loves them. The beauty of God’s love is that He offers it freely. He wants to have a loving relationship with you forever. God’s love should not stop with Him loving you, it should overflow into the lives of the people around you. This is the natural result of constantly experiencing God’s loving presence in the form of the Holy Spirit. Keep your finger there and flip over to John 17:23, the last part of it. He asks in this prayer that we the disciples would be brought to unity, to let the world know that you sent me and you have loved them even as you have loved me. So not only does Jesus love you as the Father, but the Father loves you like he loves Jesus! This is a lot of love going around! And this love never changes!

When you follow Jesus, you become His disciple. In the process of learning from Jesus, some lessons will be hard or even feel like punishment. But God is not out to punish you or hurt you. He is trying to teach you. Your choices have consequences, and God usually allows you to experience those consequences. Facing hard things and overcoming them is one of the best ways to learn. These verses from the Bible remind us of God’s wonderful, extravagant, amazing, unstoppable and unconditional love.A word of caution here: If you’re in need and yet to have your needs met, it doesn’t mean God doesn’t love you.

These gifts and talents are given to you so that you can use them to make a difference in the world. Is there a cool thing that Protestants say (like "ping" - "pong" on IRC or that cool sign Harley guys do)? I know Bill Cosby thought it was cool that Protestants say "Amen", but I don't think that's an "Amen" moment. I want to say "Thanks for remembering me, Jesus loves you too!", I don't want to say "I know, ain't I cool". So the first circle to look at this morning is this: there is no greater love, and it will never change. This love that’s being talked about here, as the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. What Jesus is saying is that the Father and the Son have this unusual relationship, this love relationship, it also includes the Holy Spirit. We call it the trinity, God is a relationship. Since eternity past! How can you even begin to think about how long eternity is! But for all eternity, the Father has loved his Son, the Son has loved the Father, and Jesus says in exactly the same way that the Father has loved me infinitely, eternally, that’s how I love you! This is a message to every disciple of Jesus. If you are his disciple, he wants you to know today and every day that he loves you just as much! The way he feels towards you is the way the Father feels towards him. That much love! There is no greater love!Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,it is not easily angered,it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evilbut rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) (Ephesians 2:4-5) So when we pray, He hears us before we even say anything because He already knows what we’re going to ask. As Topjian brought Jesus Loves You to a close, she skillfully gave the message of Jesus continuing love through the good and bad in our lives. She highlighted his one desire's to share our experiences by giving us support and love. Jesus never leaves us alone. He is always by our side. This is a message every child and adult should hear.

So, if this is HOW Jesus loves you, we must answer another question: How Much the Father Loves Jesus? The ultimate proof of God’s love for you is that He sacrificed His Son, Jesus Christ, for your sins. Even if you’ve spent your whole life running from God or done things you regret, He still loves you and wants to have a relationship with you.Second item, in verse 14. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you my servants, I call you my friends. So friendship with God and friendship in general. There’s something interesting about a real friend. A real friend will tell you the truth. Recently, I just got reconnected with a guy who three years ago, as his friend, I told the truth to. He got mad about it and he basically withdrew from me for about three years. Jesus is your friend, Jesus will tell you the truth. But to abide in Jesus means we get to be his friend, we get to actually have him tutor our hearts, and tell us the truth. Though He brings grief, He also shows compassion because of the greatness of His unfailing love. For He does not enjoy hurting people or causing them sorrow. (Lamentations 3:32-33)
