About this deal

He describes everything in terms of the instant. "You will instantly find" is probably the number one most used phrase in this book.

The journey towards love and compassion: "Letting Go" emphasizes the importance of cultivating love and compassion towards ourselves and others. Through acts of kindness, empathy, and understanding, we can break free from the limitations of our ego and experience a profound sense of interconnectedness and unity with the world. The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.” Lccn 2013947046 Ocr tesseract 5.3.0-3-g9920 Ocr_detected_lang en Ocr_detected_lang_conf 1.0000 Ocr_detected_script Latin Ocr_detected_script_conf 1.0000 Ocr_module_version 0.0.20 Ocr_parameters -l eng Old_pallet IA-NS-0001683 Openlibrary_edition What does life become when one continuously surrenders? What is possible? In the surrendered state, we are independent of the outer world as a source of satisfaction because the source of happiness has been found within us. Happiness is shared with others so that, in relationships, the surrendered person is supportive, sympathetic, encouraging, patient, and tolerant. There is an effortless appreciation of the worth and values of others and a consideration for their feelings. Power struggles, being “right,” and proving our point have been relinquished. There is an automatic nonjudgmental attitude and the supporting of others to grow, learn, experience, and fulfill their own potentialities. There is an easy-going, nurturing acceptance of others. We feel relaxed, vibrant, and full of energy. Life events flow automatically and effortlessly. We no longer respond from a motive of sacrifice or “giving up” something for others; instead, we see ourselves as being of loving service to others and the world. Health and well-being, then, are generally the automatic consequence of the letting go of guilt and other negativities, as well as the letting go of our resistance to the positive states of health and well-being."Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” Looking at the feelings on the level of interpersonal relationships, we now discover another law of consciousness. Our feelings and thoughts always have an effect on other persons and affect our relationships, whether these thoughts or feelings are verbalized, expressed, or not. Founding Director of the Institute for Spiritual Research, Inc. (1983) and Founder of the Path of Devotional Nonduality (2003), Dr. Hawkins lectured widely at such places as Westminster Abbey; Oxford Forum; Universities of Notre Dame, Michigan, Argentina, Fordham and Harvard; University of California (SF) Medical School; Institute of Noetic Sciences; and Agape Spiritual Center (Los Angeles). In addition, he has been an advisor to Catholic, Protestant, and Buddhist monasteries. He conferred with foreign governments on international diplomacy and has been instrumental in resolving long–standing conflicts that were major threats to world peace. That part of us to which we refer as our “greater Self ” loves rather than seeks love. Consequently, there comes the awareness that we are at all times surrounded by love, which is unlimited. Love is automatically attracted to the person who is loving." The state of infinite peace radiates forth unconditionally of its own from the energy field of the teacher or saint."

He highlights the importance of BEING vs DOING. Focusing on your state of being (state of consciousness and what you are feeling/thinking) leads to better results than striving and being busy all of the time. If you want to be abundant your need to FEEL abundant first. Some of the key points include the importance of being aware of one's own preconceptions about people, as well as our own inner feelings and thoughts, and how they affect those around us. Furthermore, the significance of focusing on good ideas for health, since "what is held in mind tends to express itself through the body". It was overall a good read. The goal of life is to live from your SPIRIT. When you are having crazy thoughts or feeling hard emotions, the AWARENESS that is witnessing these things is your spirit. You can witness your thoughts and feelings, knowing it is just an energy you are experiencing in the current moment. When faced with negative emotions, it is best to gradually move up the scale toward higher, faster energy fields. This means that when we transition from apathy to anger, we’re actually making progress, because we feel energized when we’re irritated or angry. The key is to not remain in an angry state for too long. After reading a few books on mindfulness, I got the idea that the secret behind staying in the present is letting go of the past. I searched for practical tips on letting go and found this book. This is a very important shift of consciousness because now the preoccupation is not with the body and defending it. The focus of attention now shifts to the mind, which is where the greater power lies. As we shift our thoughts, feelings and perceptions, we begin to notice that the body follows suit. We recognize that people are not really responding to our body at all but to our inner attitudes, our energy state, and our level of awareness. Third, put it all together by using the energy of thoughts and emotions to eliminate attachments. The blueprint to accomplish this is in David Hawkins’ Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender. As we begin letting go of all these fears, canceling the belief systems and reaffirming that our true Self is Infinite and not subject to limitations, we move into a higher state of health, wellness, and vital energy.

So I'm holding off on actually rating until I finish the audio book...but so far, I am deeply unimpressed. This book would be about half it's actual length if you cut the lists to manageable size and removed the outlandish claims (such as it being able to cure allergies). It usual riddled with false claims about auras (debunked) and other New age claptrap.

With the experience of inner peace comes great strength. An energy field of total peace is unassailable. The person who has found inner peace can no longer be intimidated, controlled, manipulated, or programmed. In this state, we are invulnerable to the threats of the world and have, therefore, mastered earthly life. When the state of peace has become established, ordinary human suffering is no longer possible because the very basis of that vulnerability has been totally relinquished. urn:oclc:record:1336332197 Foldoutcount 0 Identifier lettinggopathway0000hawk Identifier-ark ark:/13960/s2qj66v5g0r Invoice 1652 Isbn 9781401945015 Although a specific belief can be cancelled and energy to it can be refused, it is generally a waste of time to try to change thinking itself. Break free of the chains of attachment and surrender your negative emotions. Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender is a great way to start!
