About this deal

Integrated controller - allows rider to adjust temperature without removing their hand from the grip. The grips are not supplied with a specific model application list but are designed for 22mm handlebars and have lengths of123mm/114mm.

These Evo Adventure Heaterz are designed as a replacement for the handlebar grips already fitted to the motorcycle. They will fit onto most motorcycles that use 7/8" (22mm) Ø handlebars. Each grip has an open end to allow the bar end weight to be refitted without the need to trim the grip. The standard length of the Evo Adventure Heaterz grip is 5.12" (130mm). Should the length need to be shortened, they can be trimmed to a minimum length of 4.72" (120mm) without damaging the heating elements. External gripØ = 1.35" (34.2mm). Re-designed rubberised internals - easier to fit and more secure than conventional heated grips. Through-moulded rubber gives a strong and reassuring glue bond to the handlebar. The grips should not drain the battery when the engine is running, unless there is a fault with your motorcycle's charging system. If the grips are left on when the ignition is turned off, the controller will sense a drop in the bikes battery voltage, and turn the gripsoff. The Sports or the Touring grips will be fine - if you measure the length of your standard grips, and choose whichever grips would require the least trimming. The maximum uncut length and the maximum cut length are shown for eachproduct. These can be wired into the ignition, although if you do not hardwire them, and accidentally leave the grips on they will sense a drop in battery voltage and turn themselvesoff.

Battery saving mode - protects against flat batteries, so if you forget to turn the switch off it will do it for you! There are several makes of heated grips on the market, each with different pros and cons as highlighted in this review . The main concern and first hurdle encountered by all is how complicated they are to fit. What I’ve found from testing the eight grips in this review is that it is not actually that difficult, and on average, if you don’t rush, you can have a pair fitted within 30 minutes. When I fit heated grips I consider them a permanent fixture, but with care, they can be removed safely and easily, though this does, of course, depend on how much glue is applied. W ith winter well and truly upon us, most of you hardy adventure riders will still be out and about on your bikes. The cold at this time of year can really take its toll on the body and one of the most vulnerable areas to the lower temperatures are your hands. There’s no getting away from the fact that having two cold hands will really affect your riding performance and could even put you at risk as your reaction times decrease. The instructions point out that the live wire is best soldered, but this also points to the wire having to be ‘soldered’ elsewhere (ignition feed) as you would not solder directly to the battery. I added a ring connector and connected it directly to my battery.

Bicycle

The original KTM grips on my bike were not warm enough and one of them had failed, but another key reason for fitting these Oxford grips was the convenience of having a button on the left-hand grip. Will these or any of the other Oxford Hot Grips fit the Kawasaki ER6N 2016?Thanks! September 12, 2017

The most positive thing about these grips is the comprehensive colour instruction book. I urge all other manufacturers to take note of this as they are fantastic and really explain how to fit the grips in easy steps. Simple installation - the new integrated controller means that the HotGrips® wiring loom is even easier to install. Am I right in thinking the only difference between the sport, touring, scooter and adventure is the length of thegrip? September 1, 2017HotGrips® Pro offers an additional battery saving mode for lithium batteries, now common on high-performance motorcycles. O xford Hot Hands are different from the other heated grips on test in that you can easily remove these from the bike when needed. This is because they are wrap-around warmers that simply attach on top of your existing grips. They do however still have an on/off controller and plug into the bike’s battery feed. I can’t say I’m a fan of these type of grips but they definitely do have a market for those that do not want (or like) them to be permanent fitments on their bikes.

I tested this feature using a multimeter and found they drew no measurable current when the bike battery’s voltage dropped through the engine stopping. They really do only power up when the engine starts, so they shouldn’t have any impact on a healthy bike battery. We would suggest choosing the equivalent length grips that you currently have. Longer grips can be trimmed by approximately 5mm tofit.Yes, as long as the bars measure 22mm and have not been changed from standard. They may require trimming tofit. Do these heated grips come with some sort of fuse when connected to your battery? Thanks! August 16, 2018
