About this deal

It's now the third generation of this device. Why are they doing their R&D at the cost of customers? Okay, basically all R&D departments are not working for free, but some come to market with finished products. Examples? What's also nice is V3 ships with two different sets of clamping bolts, hand-driven ones and a set that are driven in using a hex key (included). In Use Beyond just holding lenses, you can also use it as a GoPro mount to get point-of-view shots. Construction of the Peak Design Capture Clip As far as I’m concerned, the Capture Clip could be used wherever you can imagine using it. As long as there is a place the metal plates can grab on tightly, it can be used to mount your camera. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1169303-REG/peak_design_sll_1_slide_camera_sling_strap_lite.html

I tend not to like clips like that that don't swivel. I would also wonder how much weight those clips support. The Capture Clip V3 marks a 30% reduction in size and weight over the previous model. It is thinner, narrowerandthe accompanying cameraplate ( sold separately) that has been reduced in size too. My biggest hangup with the Capture is just getting used to having your camera on your chest (that’s where I wore it at least), but it only took me about an hour of walking around in a park to get used to it. And by later that same day – while on a different shoot – I found I was using it instinctively. My biggest hangup with the Capture is just getting used to having your camera on your chest V3 updates: Way smaller, way lighter, all-metal build, ultra-smooth machined/anodized finish, hella comfy ergonomic design. Pro Pad: The Pro Pad wraps around a belt and acts as an expanded padded surface for the Capture Clip to attach to, increasing comfort and stability when attaching large or heavy gear.

Your gear, wherever and whenever you need it.

Yep, but I got some of the V3 loops, I found I liked them over the V1/V2 loops because they were much thinner, and it would allow me to get rid of the little triangles or rings manufacturers put on the eyelets to attach the strap. If you’re like me, you’ll just leave the plate on the camera for 90% of the time. Just note that this means it won’t sit flat on a surface any more.

Getting the Capture Clip opened is as simple as undoing the left and right knobs (remember, it’s righty-tighty and lefty-loosey). After loosening those, the upper layer can now swing upwards. Peak Design Capture Clip | Open position There’s also the aforementioned Pro Pad, which gives way more stability. It’s meant for pro photographers (hence its name) but I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet. Anyway, I’m shooting on a Sony A7III, so I’m not really carrying that much weight. You paid good money for that camera, so get it out of your bag and use the dang thing. With Capture, you can safely and comfortably carry your camera anytime, anywhere, and always have instant access.

Take, for example, our lenses. For our two cameras— the Sony A7III and the Sony a6400, we primarily travel with three different lenses: a telephoto Sigma 100-400mm F5-6.3, a wide-angle Sony 16-35mm Vario-Tessar T FE F4, and a Sony SEL50M28 FE 50mm F2.8 for macro shots. About 30 minutes later, however, the clip dropped his camera again, and this time with catastrophic results.
